The Stargate area has become pretty pathetic. There needs to be something better in there besides the motion simulator, and Stargate. STT should stay though. IMS (to me) is a waste because a) its location and b) Logger's Run is very similar.

There are quite a bit of areas still for flats though. If they wanted to they could put one in place of the cool zone. Since the stupid rainmaker show is gone, a big area opened up. Hometown Park is full of games, games, and the park still left that star of useless ground in back of the games. Its all about moving things around to accomodate flats.

Is IW the next to go? Who knows? I think its probably tied with Am E for the least popular rollercoaster in the park. (You can argue with me if you choose.) So no, I don't want IW to go, but the park is only so big.

Whats with all the hatred towards SUF, i personally love that ride to death. Yes it is short in ride time, but its an awsome experience. I i think the whole Space Shuttle simulator thing needs to go. they never have anything good in there anyway.

Yeah, good idea. Take it out and put in a Power Tower. Or how about a clone of Mission: Space. Kidding.

I thought SSA was good for thrill starters, then it got really boring after a while. Dino Island was just not my thing either. Neither is Stargate.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

i think if a coaster has to go its going to be either Wolf or Whizzer. They are both good coasters but Wolf os really rough (trains and paint could fix that) and whizzer is old and takes up loads of space. but Whizzer is also a little kid coaster and if they dont have some way of starting out (Spacley's doesnt really count) then they might be too afraid to go on other coasters. so they need to go but they also could stay with a little TLC!

Just to respond to this post, I would just like to say that there are plenty of possibilities for this area. There is plenty of room and if they wanted to, they could put another awesome coaster in this spot.

My suggestion if they took out Iron Wolf would be to replace it with a B&M Floorless. The Floorless rumor has been spread for the past few years and was regarded as a good addtition if it were true. What B&M could do is modify their design for Daemonen so that it fits the IW area better. From what I heard, Daemonen is an excellent ride that is thrill packed and smooth as hell. This would be my replacement recommendation.

As you can probably tell, I would like to see Iron Wolf taken out. It is a great ride, yes, however it is not a favorite of the general public. It is a great Stand Up and is still concidered one of the better ones, although it is rough. I think the roughness is the main reason most people choose not to re-ride it.

The option for new trains is not out of the question, however it is unlikely. I highly doubt GAm would hire B&M or any company for that matter to redo the trains on IW. I just don't see it happening.

Since Iron Wolf is still a good ride, I believe the best option would be to remove it from the park and give it to another park that is a little less fortunate in getting new rides. SF is known for their ride rotation programs and I think Iron Wolf would have better results at a different park.

As for someone mentioning taking out Demon and replacing it with a 400ft rocket...out of the question. Great America knows better than that. I would HATE to see a rocket similar to KK or TTD at GAm.

Great America is regarded as one of the best, if not THE best SF park there is, known for their friendly atmosphere and great rides. I think adding something like TTD or KK would ruin that reputation. If they get new rides, they need something that has substance to it, not a simple launch, brake, or launch hill brake...that's lame.
