If Six Flags were up to put new roller coaster. And they would have to remove one of the SF's 12 coasters. Which coaster would you like to be removed? My guess WHIZZER because it's too old and the new coaster would be gread just right above the lake!
extra credit- i didn't want to start new topic: Looking at the SFGAm what do you think how many coaster would fit at SF all together add the 12 present. My guess is 16 b/c remove go karts (1) remove log flume (2)- we got HH. between viper & whizzer (3) next to the AE's entrance above the train's track (4). there can be 2 more roller coasters added too like rangin' cajun that use little space- but it's cool. thx so over all 12now+4big+2small= 18roller coasters!
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
To be honest, I can't think of a SfGam coaster that I would want removed. I'm actually beginning to really like the Whizzer and besides, every time I go on it before noon, DejaVu seems to start testing right as the ride is ending. If it was to be removed, DejaVu would never open.
If SfGam got creative, they could have well over 20 coasters added without taking anything out. "The problem is that they don't and won't."(I might be taking this comment back this fall, but who cares right? )

My eyes! The goggles do nothing!
Anyway, I'd probably get rid of 1/3 of the parking lot, build a parking garage, and not have to get rid of any coasters.
yeah right!!!!!! Where at? The parking lot? lol.... The only way we could get space in the park is by taking down a ride, or constructing on top of the parking lot..... we might have a little room for another small-sized coaster....
I don't know if that's sarcasm, but I can't agree more. I have no idea where some of you guys can find room to put in rides. The way I can see it as cramming in rollercoasters such as in between Viper and the Go-Karts.
The only other way to answer the question is to remove some flats, a theatre, or the picnic grove. Also, they could keep on taking the parking lot, but yet the parking lot seems to be running out of space with the addition of Hurrican Harbor.
I really think that HH should have been across the street for the pure fact that SFGAm is a profitable park, and in order to expand without taking anything out, they need the parking lot.
The two/three rollercoasters that in my opinion would probably go first would be Am E and IW. Honestly, when the park is crowded, I will go to IW (as my rollercoaster) along with flats because they seem and are the shortest. When my brother forces me on Am E, it's usually a walk-on. On a couple exceptions, it can get longer.

Who says you must have some massive amount of space to build a roller coaster? B&M seem to be pretty good at squeezing stuff in, just look at Batman, and Iron Wolf. Or they could pull a Storm Runner, and weave around a rather large area.

Oh my.
First of all, why remove a theater and flat rides. You have other folks who go into the park to ride things other than rollercoasters. Coaster-junkies are by far the minority in the park. Its a family place. Don't forget that.
The picnic grove makes them tons of money every year, as well as the Go-Karts. Management would have a serious lack of judgement.
That land across the tollway had to be sold. There were municipal issues as well as cash flow. Not an option.
2 or 3 coasters? You named 2. I consider AE one if its being removed. You can't keep half a ride.
Iwould love to elaborate on what GreatAmerica2003 said. The age of coasters being the main attraction of the parks is dead. Peopel are saying that they should expand the kid areas...I keep asking myself, "why?" Currently the Amusment industry has noticed that more crowds come when you install something that is for everyone (aka Mardi Gras addition.) Why just confine kids to certain areas of the park when they can go throughout the park with their families and ride other attractions (aka teens can go on King Chaos and Ragin Cajun, while families can go on the Big Easy Baloons, Jesters, and Roaring Rapids.) Makes perfect sense doesn't it. Instead of family rides and flats being considered support rides we are starting to see exactly the oppoisite, rollercoasters supporting family rides.
Also as the for the lack of room statement, There is allways enough room, there isnt allways enough creativity. Think about that and you'll know why I allways say there will allways have enough room. One major area I would like to point out is the access road between American Eagle and the Speedway. I never liked this area and I believe with a little creativity you can do many things with that area, like what I would really like a Vekoma Family Swinging Coaster. Yes I said I want a Vekoma, I want another family coaster like the Whizzer that everyone can ride, none of the Spacely's garbage that only Parents and their kids can ride. Yes I know that rule is gone but how many times have you seen a teenager ride with his little brother?
Dont expect Picnic Groove neither the Go-Karts to go anytime soon, due to their large profitability. And as greatamerica2003 stated that they would have to have no judgement skills. Guess what children they have great judgement skills and this park will continue to thrive considering that Premier lets the budget grow a little so they can work on the small things that makes a true experience.
If six flags didn't build HH, That would be alot of space for like 1-5 rollercoasters. But if 1 was to be removed, I'll say.............Whizzer because theres a lake there and that space could be for a water ride/coaster.
From being one of the class geeks in 8th grade to one of the most noticable ones in High School. Thats what you call "Steppin Yo Game Up!"
T.K. wrote:well they could build a floorless M&B that would go around the park- why not???
LOL (I'm not laughing at you) But that will be very Bad because just think about it. A roller coaster going around the park. That will make guests REALLY Sick! But i like your idea though

I honestly believe that you think that I don't ever go on flats at the park. I go on STT, Chubasco, Ricochet, Whirlgig, BEB, Condor, TP, Orbit, Fiddler's Fling, ERC, Roaring Rapids almost all the time when I go to the park. So, I am not against flats.
For the coasters, yes I do believe that Am E is just one rollercoaster. I always believed that and will always that no matter what someone tells me. However, many people on this site say it counts as two so I said two or three depending on which way you think about it.
I'm up for a Mine Train coaster. When I was in StL., Disneyworld, and SFOG, I saw a lot families on this type of coaster. I love them too. I would be up for that Scooby-doo water ride also.
A flat to take out could be something like Stargate. I really don't know what category that would be under though (family or not), but the line is never that great.
I would never say to take out a ride if it is still popular. For River Rocker, I think it's boring, but it's very popular. So, what wouldn't you keep it if you were the park. Anyway when I said flats, I meant more of something bigger like IMS, or Stargate.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
And we can agree on something. I would love a Mine Train Ride for families. I can ONLY say remove the Whizzer if another ride can take its "family" status. A nicely themed mine ride (does not have to be extravagant like Big Thunder Mountain) in the Southwest Territory area could be a great addition.
There may be sufficient room behind the Giant Drop and SWT Ampitheater.
I Think they could build another long coaster along the opposite side of the park from American EAgle. There's also room between Viper and Whizzer. Plus Deja Vu takes up a lot of space and still has lots of problems. If it went away, we could probably fit another medium/large size coaster and another small coaster. plus some small falts. they also have room for another small/medium coaster back behind the Southwest Amphitheatre. Plus they have tons and tons of room for new flats. We have no space problems....
But, honestly, our park has shown that we are very un-creative(I don't know if there's a word for that). So they'll most probably take down Iron Wolf or Demon in the near future. The only time either have lines at all is one really busy days, otherwise the line almost never gets past the cave under the lift. and I've only ever noticed Wolf with a full queue once. so that's my guess. Now, I don't go to the park as much as some of you, so I still see it from a non-obsessed way. And I don't notice a lot of things, but that is what I believe.
I think if SF would take their time like about a week. They for sure would find enough space for XL coaster. My second guess if they would remove American Eagle they could use in addition the land behind the cirus- THX
Six Flags Ameirca as the number 1 park at SFI.... this is JOKE!
Yes, I agree with planea about the possibilities for the Raceway/Eagle service road. That area is not very attractive, and could benefit from a family sized coaster, or something along those lines.
Some new flats could be scattered around the park, such as where The Wall is now, near the Cool Zone in SWT, Hometown Park, and near Sky Trek Tower.
If they could knock down Wilderness Theater, that would open up tons of possibilities for the expansion of Camp Cartoon Network. They seriously need to add some more kiddie flats, and maybe a Vekoma Jr. Inverted coaster. Everyone seems to love those, and PKI's always has a long line.
I truly don't think they should remove anything. I like everything the way it is, they probably have room for a new coaster without having to take anything out.
I would like a free-fall ride in the park, but the only way to do that is remove the Giant Drop and replace it with a Southwestern-style free-fall ride and name it Cattle Drive, High Noon Bullet, or something like that.
There's plenty of space in Looney Tunes Park and Hometown Park for a flat ride or two. I can't see anything new in CCN anytime soon, unless the Wilderness Theater was torn down. Six Flags seldom uses that area anymore.
Now that HH is coming to town, I'd knock down Splashwater Falls and replace it with whatever coaster would fit there. And change the atrocious name of Ice Mountain Splash back to the authentic Yankee Clipper.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
Mr. D.T. wrote:I would like a free-fall ride in the park, but the only way to do that is remove the Giant Drop
Uh...What do you call giant drop?
Anyway, I could also see flats being added to the Area Previously known as Hometown Park. Plus if they got creative they could probably fit two more flats back near Stargate without removing any attractions. Maybe some trees, four feet of sidwalk, a little midway... but other then that, I don't see what the expansion issue is, we have plenty of room.
I would get rid of Splashwater Falls and maybe even the other water rides, to make room for few new coasters. That would also make it so people would have to go to the waterpark on warm days.
