Love at First Fright Fan thread

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I loved the last show. Me, Loveatfirstfright03, and freghtfestfreak3 had so much fun that night. It was a night for fun. I loved the parade that night, though it almost made me cry since there's no more laff till next year. We almost got pictures with a few cast members, but the one we took of loveatfirstfright03 and Jack didn't turn out since it was of their legs. Oh well. We did some screaming of cast member's names during Ghostbusters and it was just a fun day. Do any of you guys wish you could replay that day to get the same feel again. I wish I could!

I'm going to miss them too. I think I've heard of a few people auditioning again next year, but out of the three years I've seen it, I have to say this season was my fave. I loved the jokes, and the people I met who work in the show are such down to earth, sweet people. I can't wait till next season

okay, i was thinkin and i was wonderin if any of you think the writers of Love At First Fright left out any monsters. Also, do you think any character could be eliminated and everything would be okay?

Actually, a character was eliminated years ago. There used to be a Zombina. And I don't think there was ever a Ghostina before Zombina dissappeared, but I'm not really sure.

I've never seen a show without some of the characters, but I think the show with a Zombina would be odd. Did she take the place of Ghostina in " The Beast in Me"?

Yeah, I think that Ghostina was the replacement for Zombina. I can do some more digging if you guys are interested.

From what I have heard...Ghostina replaced Zombina and the song Beast in Me was not actually a part of the show until the Hag part was written in...'cause believe it or not kids...LAFF is always evolving...slowly...but it happens...

Hey Beast, what's happening?
I think you're right about Beast In Me and all that...do you have any idea what year all that may have happened? Sometime in the mid 90's I think. Not long after LAFF started.
Now that's going to bug me.

okay, another question.....if you could design the laff set, would you change it? If you did change it, what would you add/take away/keep. Here's an example:

Add: revolving stage like Kristopher Jones had in 2002. More tombstones in the graveyard.

Remove: the crappy tree background they have now. if it couldn't be taken away, i'd at least paint over the red dot that looks like an eye. It bugs me when little children say that someone is looking at them.

Keep: the two side things, the tower, the bench....

you get the idea....

I think I would add a couple more tombstones to the first act and then have a big ol' organ up against the stairs at witchies castle. I think they could have fun with that.

I know that ya'll are obsessed with this show and I'm sure you love it where it is, but I would like to see them do it on a smaller stage with a more minimal set. I think it would make it easier for them to include the audience and perhaps make the show a little creepier during moments.

Not to mention a smaller theatre could make it easier for them to decorate the house, which would be awesome in my opinion, I love when the set spans the whole theatre, not just the stage.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

LAFF can entice big crowds. I've seen the theater packed with people before. It's been at the Grand Music Hall for so long and is still just as popular so why change what is not bad?

Howdy Ih8Laff! Good to see you still around the boards! Not much goin on here, how 'bout with you?

In answer to your question...I want to say around 92 or 93 but I'm not really sure...I know it was relatively early in the shows running...sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

And about the set...I like it...smaller would definitely not be better, but more elements for the monsters to play with would be kind of cool...

I like the stage size. I think that if they made the show in a different place with a lot less room, the audience may not all fit.... I have a pic from like two years ago where the crowd for one of the shows during the second FF weekend was completely on the stairs and off the stairs and all the way back to the area where the sound booth for the parade preshows are at.... I think of what everyone's said, and I realize that I like LAFF just the way it is.... :)

Hey LAFFfan, who is Kristopher Jones, and how do you know about him? Does he really spell it with a 'K'? In what way is he related to the show? Did he just bring in his own revolve? How did that all work? Sounds like you have an 'In'....

Beast! Not much going on here, either. Can't wait to get back to painting! You going to make it to try-outs this year? My little brother says hi, too.
