Hey everyone! I was thinking about this last night, But I was saying to my self "If Six Flags build a Hotel, would their popularity go up? Will they make more money?" Where will they put it? Will there be another Parking Lot? Is Six Flags gonna add transportation to and from the park?
But now, I'm asking you guys the question! Do You think Six Flags Should Build A Hotel? (Think of a name for it!)

Maybe not right now, but in the future (within 10 years) I think SFGAm should derfinately build an indoor waterpark resort that's open year round. I'm not good at naming things, but maybe something like the Great American Lodge and it could be themed to the outdoors or something like that.
Now why would they spend (correct me if I'm wrong) 2 million dollars to build a waterpark this year if they were going to build an indoor waterpark in less than 10 years down the road? I does not make any sense. Furthermore, I beleive that an indoor waterpark is already being built in the Gurnee area.
As much as you would want to see that happen, it wont.
Well it wouldn't be like the world's largest waterpark or anything, just something to give the hotel a reason to be open year round. And having another hotel with an indoor waterpark near it shouldn't really be a reason to not build one. Just look at the Wisconsin Dells.
Yes they should get a hotel. It could be placed on the other side of American Eagles helix. Six Flags has the perfect location for a resort the demographics for a resort are perfect and I think they know that. Gurnee is 45 miles from Chicago and 45 from Milwakee, huge population base, Great America is about 25 minutes from the Worlds busiet airport, making Gurnee the ideal location for a resort. Will a hotel come, no, SFGAm should get a partnership with marriott just like SFog has.
There are hotels all over the place in Gurnee, there's also another resort hotel going accross the street...it would lose more money than it would make.
Edit: And what about land? Where is the land going to come from, the sky?

rct2wizard360 was saying that they should add it behind the American Eagle! but they should buy a land near six flags and add the hotel and transportation to and from the park!

There are plenty of rooms available in the surrounding area. Any more and you flood the market.
But did you know that one of their parks in america has a hotel!

I'm not saying that Gurnee should own the hotel! It's Six Flags choice! i'm just seeing if that would be a great idea to build one! Just think about! You made the choice to have hotel built for the park, Thats more money for Six Flags Inc., The village/City of Gurnee and more money for more things!

I don't see why it's so crazy either! one person who posted a letter said add a small indoor water park for all year in the hotel! Just look at the dells, They have indoor water parks and hotels for them! why can't Great America Have one? Great America can grow by popularity, they can add transportation to and from the park! I don't see why it's a bad idea! why do you think they are adding a new water park? Was it for the money? probualy! was it for popularity? Yes!

Well, I would have voted in this poll but I see that the answer "NO" is not one of the choices.
As has been said above, SF is not in the hotel/resort business. That sector is already takin care of with the many hotels/motels in the Gurnee area as well as Waukegan, Libertyville, etc.
Why build something that is already saturated?
Should SFGAm build a mega outlet mall in Gurnee to?
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

What he said is right on target. SfGadv is highly rumored to be trying to become the next "Cedar Point". The have tons of room and what is left to add but a resort. Mark my words, SfGadv adds campgrounds and hotel, 2006.
But do I see SfGam adding a hotel/campgrounds? Well, not yet. Just wait awhile and it might become more obvious, but right now, I don't see the park adding an on-site hotel.
So far as putting a hotel on the grounds....
Would you coaster enthusiasts rather have a dumb ol' hotel....or a new coaster?
Yeah, thats what I thought.
There are plenty of hotels around, no reason for SF to build one.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
In their current state no! But if great America were to buy lots more land and build a second park...Possibly a warner Brothers movie place. Then it would be a good time to build a hotel, But unless a miricle occurs, then that will never happen.
It's not something we immediatley need, but in years to come, it may be a good thing to have. If we get a nice, new, innovative coaster. More guests will come. Then if we somehow get a sudden burst of fame, more people will want to come here, from farther away. Now if it were me, I wouldnt want to drive 6 hours, and have to leave early to drive back. Then the airport being only those miles away, they could easily provide bus service here from the airport, and a bus that offers transportation from the major hotel areas of Gurnee. It's NOT needed, but it could serve its use later on.
Outside of entusiasts who really would drive many hours just to go ride a coaster? The general public will normally ride whatever they can get and if their homepark gets a great new coaster then all the better.
The addition of a new coaster at GAm wouldnt draw the GP from all over the country as much as you would think. Remember we are all enthusiast biased twords the issue.
Either way, as has been stated many times before Great America isn't a resort so they would never build a hotel. If they were in the resort buisness it would be a lot more like Disney (busses taking people everywhere, hotels, nice sitdown restaraunts, etc..).
And about the Wisconsin Dells comment, yes there are many hotels up there but the Wisconsin dells is a major midwestern resort (It's like Disneyland of the midwest). They do have the major toursim industry to support the broad selection of hotels up there. Gurnee is completly different. Ask 90% of the General Public around here, they probably don't know where Gurnee even is let alone the fact that Great America is there.
So you guys are saying that they should build it, but when they add more things to their park such as a movie theater and more roller coasters? or you guys are saying that they shouldn't build one due to major hotels already in the gurnee area which might flood the stock market?

With the amount of hotels in Gurnee it wouldn't serve much purpose but take up space. In about ten years GAm is going to be begging for space and adding a hotel won't help the problem. More rides is much more reasonable...
