Washing Street Entrance?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Hi,Just wondering if anyone knows whether the park plans on opening the Washington Street entrance at all this year?? While it's never a big deal to drive around to Grand Ave, the back way is less busy and much less of a hassle.Cam.

I highly doubt it. It's an easy item on a budget list to axe. You'll be able to exit, but not come in.Official word is that the Wash. St. entracnce is "indefinetly" closed.

Yeah, I guess you're right. The left turn lane (from east-bound Washington Street) has been painted over! However, the traffic lights were still running (probably for when the open that as an exit).Cam.

Well, at least as of opening day, they didnt even open up Washington st. to exit toward closing time. I hope they still use it as an exit this season.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

They really need it to open it up at the beginning of the day, because it get hectic at the beginning of the day. Also, one time before we had to turn around by that entrance, and the lights wouldn't turn because they must have sensors on them. This is so when no ones there, the Washington Street light is always green.

Well if you really think about it SFGAm is probably doing this for security reasons. You may only wanna have one entrence becuse security may not beable to keep track of everyone who goes in. Although it is fun riding under American Eagle (I love doing that) I would also want SFGAm as safe a possable
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

When theres a lot of cars they open it up for exit around park closing, other than that it seems like it's being used for construction vehicles.

I think it would be cool to open the washington street entrance/ exit because I would love to go under American Eagle.
I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.

My school bus goes past the Washington entrance and there is a construction sign for the big trucks that were coming in for the water park and I saw a crane driving in the entrance on Washington Street.
