(NOTE: I was doing this thread to be silly. It's too bad there's another thread with the same subject. I just didn't realize it.)
SFMM ripped off Shockwave with Viper. Our park ripped off Animal Kingdom's Primeval Whirl with the now not-so-Rajin' Cajun. Multiple parks cloned the Dumbo ride with many clones, as DCA did with a handful of Florida attractions. Epcot copied Soarin from DCA. Now the cloning irony continues with yet another rip-off, this one off of Top Thrill Dragster. I predicted this would happen.
Six Flags Great Adventure currently has the Kingda Ka on the drawing boards. When the plan is given the green light, this coaster will reach a whopping 456 feet with a top speed of 128 mph, which riders will be launched to that speed in just three seconds. The train will leave the station and take a brief stroll through the jungle before catapulting 128 mph towards the tower spiraling guests up and down the huge structure.
I could say that this ride is Top Thrill Dragster in an African jungle.

R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Clones are cheaper to build and more predictiable as far as reliability goes, since one operating just like it already exists.
I wouldn't call Kingda Ka a clone of TTD as it has a faster launch, larger top hat and a airtime hill...plus dual loading stations. Viper and Shockwave are also not even close to clones. Shockwave and GASM are near clones however.
I personally don't mind clones at all, if there is a great ride I wouldn't mind them building one exactly like it closer to home. There are a few coasters out there right now that I wouldn't mind having a clone of at SFGAm.

That's the standard model, all of the mice made by Reverchon are the exact same (and instead of saying Cajun is not so Ragin', Primeval Whirl is not so, Whirley?).
Clones, are business. It's not that big of deal, people copy things that are successful, you see that everywhere. Oreo cookie clones, iPod type thing clones, etc... People arn't going to travel from Illinois to Georgia, S:UF was built at GAm, not that big of a deal...
I'm not saying TTD and Kingda Ka are clones clones, neither are Shockwave and Viper. They do have differences but they were built by the same company. I called Rajin' Cajun not so rajin' because I hear it was tamed down and they don't run enough vehicles. I tended to equate TTD and Kingda as clones because they have nearly the same track layout, not because of their differences.

Why? So somewhat else could be at risk of being tossed out? You haven't even rode the damn thing but you already knock it. Stormrunner has OTSR's and most of the reviews have been positive.
Get over yourself and experience the ride before you pass judgement.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
I wouldn't take OTSR's. I would just take the T-bar and the individual seat belt, which makes sure no rider is tossed out. That would make a better thrill, wouldn't it?
And I like V2. It's slightly different than Wicked Twister.
Deja Vu is great, but ours isn't the tallest. The tallest one stands at MM.
By the way, I agree with Mr. Deja Vu. If the ride is a clone, then the original must be good. That way, you don't have to travel far just to ride a particular coaster.

Last time I checked there were...........55 Vekoma Boomerang clones worldwide? (Just an estimate). I really don't appreciate Vekoma doing that, especially when an original ride is taken down to make room. Deja Vu is the only ride Vekoma makes that I enjoy.
How much longer can I last until Opening Day! ARRRRGH!

Have you been on any other Vekoma rides?

Yea but it seemed like Deja Vu was in the lowest park of that hill. Also there Dejavu looks smaller than any of the other ones (which I no isn't true).
^I totally agree, I couldnt see Deja Vu at all until I was literally standing next to the Queue line. I knew where it was in the park but was totally confused all at the same time.

I much rather would have seen the revival of Kitchen Kabaret than the stupid Soarin clone that's being built right now. KK was a great original. I guess it shows why coaster fans like originals a lot better than clones. The only good thing about clones is that you don't have to travel a long distance to ride a specific coaster. Deja Vu, Batman, and V2 are all clones, and I still seem to like them.
While Superman isn't necessarily a clone, it is a slightly modified version of the original coaster in Georgia.
Speaking of originals, don't expect Shockwave to be rebuilt anytime soon. I found a few decapitated pieces of the coaster and I'm going to post pictures of it to prove it when I get the chance. I guess that's the real horror story of this Halloween.
