^I think he meant the overflow lot(that's what I got from it). Either way, it was discussed somewhere in these 17 pages, probably more than once!
Finally Coaster Season!!

Anyone going to the Kiss FM, Clear Channel End of Summer Bash at six flags on SEPT 10th? its only 21.99 after tax and they are severly limiting ticket sales to insure short lines and tons of fun, go to http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatamerica and you will see the link on the main page. SEASON PASS'S are not valid, you must purchase a ticket

AND WHAT MAKE ME MAD, I TRYED PURCHASING TICKETS, AND IT DOESNT OFFER DISCOVER CARD AS A CARD TYPE, THATS SOME BOGUS STUFF, NOW I CANT GO BECAUSE I HAVE A DISCOVER CARD AND THEY ONLY OFFER AMERICAN EXPRESS, VISA AND MASTERCARD.

Wow...we have atleast one thread about this somewhere else. Why are you randomly posting it in here, then double posting again?

They don't accept Discover cards because Discover sucks. :)

The waterpark isn't going in the overflow lot. The reason that one side has the lightposts down and not the other is because they still have to accomodate vehicles until this season ends.

Think about it. Logistically, having the waterpark in part of the overflow lot would be a nightmare. Guests that visit both parks wouldn't be to pleased to have to hop back and forth from one park to the other if they are not connected.

Sorry, back on topic now. I really can't wait to see the parking lot change forms these next couple months as a lot of construction will start. This should put a tidal wave over Great Adventure's rocket if you know what I mean.

I was thinking... Since the back parking lot will mostly get alot more use next year, maybe we will see the return of the trams? That would definatly be a great move. Just a thought..

Did we have trams in the past. Sorry if that was already disgussed. I read about 15 of the 17 pages. Thats about 600 posts.

Hey technop your going to get kicked off the forums. Read the rules before you post. Theres already a topic on that. So go talk about it in there.

Yes, the park had trams when it was owned by Marriott.

Notice how the front road of the parking lot next to the ticket booths is situated in an arch shape? That was constructed to accomodate the trams for easy access to drop off and pick people up.

Now unfortunately it only gets used by Gurnee police and SFGAm security. 8)

You can see one of the old trams near the Scenic Railroad garage.

I doubt any ground work on the waterpark will start until they finish the overflow lot. They need the parking, if they lose both the overflow lot and bus lot, not enough parking will be left. Therefore, I think that the overflow lot will be repaved before the bus lot is torn up.

They can't do anything until the overflow lot is done, fright fest is coming and if they started working on the park already they wouldn't have enough parking. Espicially on Saturday's.

Yes. I mentioned that in a couple of my posts. I pretty much had a summary of the webcast in 2 of my posts that are on the 1st page.

Construction has started. They have a section of parking lot torn up by Viper. The overflow lot was still closed so when the lot filled up, they had cars parallel park along the parking lot road.

I don't think they actually started repaving yet. But I would expect it to be done by fright fest.

They had a few very small patches done. The way they are doing it, I wouldn't be suprised if most of it only gets resurfaced.
