Eagle Blue.......................... Why isn't it opened?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby sixflagsguy5 on August 26th, 2004, 5:51 pm
As most of you know the american eagle blue has not been open for about a week now. I know that this has to do with staffing issues. But do you think that it will be open on sundays at night and halloween, columbus day, and sundays during frieght fest. This is my favorite ride in the whole park. And it usually never has a line on all of the days that i listed. If its not open i would be really disapointed.

Do you think that the ameican eagle blue will be open for fright fest?

It will be open for sure on the saturdays and Sundays during peak times, but Friday's and the Monday are not promising. It will definately run during fright fest though, except if something beyond anyones control happens.

I love riding it at night when it doesnt have a line and you get to stay on. But if red doesnt have a line at night ill just do that.

Depending on what they feel like, either Blue or Red can be open on weekdays. Normally maintenence gets them both ready just in case, so 1 side can be open one half of the day, and the other side can be open the other half of the day.
Doesn't happen to often but i've seen it a few times.

Also isn't it true that if there arent alot of people in the park that they tend to run less trains for each ride?

And has anyone here ever seen Iron Wolf, or the Eagle only running one train, cause i haven't in 6 years or so.

They'll run 2 trains on Raging Bull and Whizzer and have 1 side of Eagle closed, other than that, for coasters, the rides can run their respected capacity with the minimal operators.
They also run Demon with 2 operators even with 1 aux panel, I don't think thats the best idea cause they have to go somewhat fast not to stack, but it works I guess...

The only rollercoaster besides D Vu and V2 that I have seen run one train is actually just BTR on C.A.D. and one day last year. I also heard by people on here that SUF was down to one train a couple weeks ago. That was probably just maintenance problems though.

I've seen Superman, V2, DejaVu, Spacelys(last 3 were obvious), Demon, both sides of American Eagle, Whizzer, and Batman in one train operation. I have heard of Raging Bull in 1 train op, but I'm not sure about Iron Wolf and Viper.

What month or months was this for Demon, RB, Am E, and Whizzer? Yes, I forgot Spacely's before. The other time I seen BTR with one train was in late August last year.

Who wasn't there on November 2nd last year? I don't remember that, but it makes sense. It was pretty empty and raining.

I almost wasn't even there. Rain and school the next day don't go well with parents.

I remember that day like it was yesterday. :) The park was cold. It was constanly misting and the park was dead. Most everything was a walk-on and a stay-on. And Yes, everything was on minimal operation.

Now I remember. Raging Bull had one train-op on the Sunday of Last Blast 2002 and it could hardly fill that train.

Thats awesome, why was it so empty? Was it because it was raining, or just because its cold october? I can't wait till halloween and columbus day. Those are always the best.

Yea, the park was dead on November 2nd, everything was a walk-on, it didnt matter with the one train ops. The park ran one train ops on almost every ride last year closing day, no need to add any trains, hoping for the same closing this year, but doubtful. It is on Halloween, it is going to be a little more crowded than closing day last year in my opinion.

Unless it's 40 degrees and expected to rain all day. Also, Superman, Batman, Iron Wolf, Raging Bull, and Viper all ran 2 trains on 11/2/03. Those are half of the major coasters that operated for most of the day. V2 and DejaVu were closed.

Back on topic. It proves to show that the park sees AER as the better ride of the 2 sides. Why would they rather keep that one open instead of Blue?

Yeah, I meant to say that DejaVu opened then closed. Hence the statement, "which ran most of the day."
