So, what's the best themed ride at SFGAm today? Last year I would have said BTR without a doubt, this year no way.
So, I would have to pick (drumroll please) SUF because of the signs, the music, and the fact that you are flying like Superman. D Vu would be next, and after that Condor.
Raging Bull, Superman: Ultimate Flight, Deja Vu, or Vertical Velocity.
Raging Bull is obvious.
S:UF like you said Ilovthevu.
Deja Vu because of the little pond it has before boarding.
Vertical Velocity becuse of the water.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
Even though Batman lost a little grafitti and junk, it still is themed pretty darn well, but I would have to say that Viper is themed very well too. I think that Viper's theming is awesome. There is tons to look at in the station(not to mention the station itself), as well as the ancient decrepit look of the brake shed.
By the way, my friends and I thought all of those old wagons that were added along Viper's line look a billion times cooler than waist high weeds!
After Viper and Batman, I'd go with Demon, and Superman.

Uhm, how can you say anything but B:TR? So it doesn't have some spraypaint now, still kicks the crap out of anything else (anyone wanna tell me what station compares with the batcave?).
As I mentioned on another thread, even with some minor absences, Batman is still a very good themed roller coaster. It is by far my favorite ride at SFGAm. I don't know how any of the other rides can compete.
Demon would be a 2nd.
Superman seems really lacking, for me. Cardboard cut-outs with BGM aren't on the same level as VT's comment regarding the Batcave. Superman could have been SO much more. In addition, I would love to see more terrain features around the layout. It's way better then Shockwave's parking lot, but even that parking lot had some older trees in the berms.
And the Batcave you see for five minutes. As I said before, the story went away when the grafitti and junk left. Batman is saving the day from all the crime in the city. That's gone now. It also gave me something to look at in line.
I think that Batman and Superman are the best themed for their names. The rest of the rides are good too. Viper and Bull and Drop are good too. But i still love the rest.
I'm sorry, but Superman is just *not* a themed coaster. music is part of a theme and can certainly add to it, but its more than that. super statistics don't tell a story that climaxes with the ride. Batman, on the other hand, does. even in its nutered state, it still gets its story across. the area under the street still appears undesirable, which happens to be the point.
now I'm not saying I dislike the landscaping around rides like SUF, DV, or V2, but landscaping does not equal theming.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
Undesirable??? People started making their own graffitti on the pole. So, I guess that would be undesirable. Isn't that why they took the graffitti off the walls in the first place? It didn't work too well, did it?

Vertical Velocity becuse of the water.
Haha, I don't see what Vertical Velocity's theme really is. I don't really consider water theming, it's just water. V2 isn't themed.
I think Demon is themed wonderfully during the ride, but there isn't any other theming anywhere else. (Bring back the old song they played in the queue lines!)
Batman has the best queue line by far. Viper and Bull aren't bad either.
Top 5 wood-5-Goliath 4-Ravine Flyer II 3-Phoenix 2-Voyage 1-El Toro Top 5 Steel- 5-Velocicoaster 4- Maverick 3- Fury 325 2-Steel Vengeance 1-X2 Coaster Count: 444
BTR comes first -- just bring back the grafiti. Viper comes second, Giant Drop third. Ragin Bull fourth. BTR did win best theme for ride but I dont know it was a couple of years ago and it said it on the Six Flags site.
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.

They make their own graffiti on every pole when they're standing in line for anything, it's not real accurate to say they did because they want the old graffiti back..

Yeah it did. You had to remind me. Lol. In the station by the front of the train hanging, they had a snake in a box. I think it might have opened up. I'm not positive though. I was looking for it the year after they took it down but never did find it, and I don't know why they would take it out.
Here are my top 3 themed rides at the park in my opinion
1. Batman: The Ride-The Batcave owns all stations.
2. Giant Drop- I like the mine theme with rocks and mine carts in the queue line. It also has some sound effects.
3. Viper- Nice western feel with chuckwagons in the queue and a very nicely done station.
Honorable Mention: Demon- It has neat sound effects in the tunnels and neat lights. Also the rock formations(with waterfall and red eyes on the one.)
It just doesn't interest me too much compared to the other 3.
