REVISITED: Stupidest Park Rumors of all Time

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on August 16th, 2004, 1:44 am
Way back in the offseason the first ever installment of the stupidest park rumors you've ever heard of was born. Now as the 2004 season reaches the stretch run, we take a look at more of the dumbest rumors of all time.... some of these more stupider then the first set.

Dateline:
A particular website mentions its rumors section on the front page....
one in particular. "Now on to SFWoA news, our source there says that a Intamin rocket is need there really bad."

really now? hmm Seems to me the boys and girls at this site forgot to update

It gets better because they also mention this whopper.

"I just got off the Log Ride at Great America this past week, and guess what! New Coaster Peices are sitting on a hill near S:UF, i cant wait for this new coaster! 2005 is gonna rock baby!"

Other dishonorable mentions on that site include:

Zonga is coming to SFGam.
DejaVu is going to be replaced by a LIM lauched looped invert.
DejaVu is being replaced by Sky Whirl (funny didnt that already happen the other way around?)

More Shockwave tid-bits..

"In addition to the new waterpark being built at SFGaM, it is now confirmed that SW will be returning with a new paint job and a new element that wasnt i nthe original ride."

Seems to me that people still cant get over SW...

Finally... The speculation as to whats going to be added next at GA has made some people go insane...

"A new 4D is going to be built next to Raging Bull"
"A new B&M Floorless is going to take the spot where Iron Wolf is now"

Seems to me that people are gun-ho about SFGam getting a new B&M, I Hope it happens soon too, but please..

On the subject of Iron Wolf, people are obsessed with its paint..

One person even went as far as saying IW will be repainted Green...huh?

I dont think i ever seen a green wolf, then again never saw a red on either

Rumors of what Rollercoaster Six Flags is getting next are always a trip, if i have left out some feel free to post them on here so we can all point and laugh... because some of these stupid rumors really are laughable....

**scroll above to see what im talking about**

To people that posted in those topics:
-Déjà is too popular to take out, until it falls apart (which it probably will) they'll keep it running.
-Tidal Wave is not returning to GAm.
-ShockWave was taken out due to low ridership, and when there are 6 billion people in the world and only a select group of people like the ride; it's time for it to go.
-They don't speed lifts up after thunderstorms to make rides run faster.
-When the park is dead and all rides are walk ons, you can't assume one of them is not popular (especially when it's tone of the only 2 that are filling all the gates).
-As long as theres fairs and smaller non corporate parks, there will never be a monopoly among ride manufacturers.
-The only way to accurately guess what will happen a few years in the future is to look at the parks plan (which even that is changed all the time, i'd assume).

I think the red represents blood. And the silver represents the wolf.

Well the rumor is that it was the GM's college colors. I can't think of any other reason they'd paint it that color because of how ugly it is  (although it did look nice when it opened).
Light blue track, silver rails, black supports. Such a perfect color scheme for that ride...

The rumor that i thought was the best was posted on the old thrillride website where rumors were put together in one easy to read format and then ended with the wildest one of them all, and the one that i found the funniest was the one where they stated cedar Point was going to be moved and all the coasters would be put on barges and floated down Lake Erie for the site of a new park.

in my opinion, the dumbest rumor is that Shockwave will be split into two rides, Shock and Wave. The new coaster pieces (Shockwave) is pretty dumb too.

VT, why would you consider Two Would Better Than One to be a rumor? It's more like, it would be better to have two bumper cars instead one. I never said SFGAm is getting more bumper cars for 2005.

I am happy to report that the water for the waterpark will be purple.

No, the new floorless coaster will run through the wavepool. Thats why they are calling it "Waverunner". There will even be little guardarms to keep people in rafts from crossing the track. I know because your lemon chill guy has a cousin that runs the Turkey Leg stand down at SFSTL. He was telling me all about it and how lucky you guys are.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

How could one forget that!! That rumor got so out of hand, it spread to almost every major message board out there!!

And does anyone remember S:UF construction and the *solo* support!

Other good ones were:

1.) The "Shockwave is missing it's lift chain" debate/rumor.
2.) As mentioned above, the 4D track in the shed.
3.) "Whizzer will be moved elsewhere in the park so they can build Superman in Whizzer's spot."

I remember that when thrillride was around they posed everyones rumos tha you would e mail um. They had alota good news, but alot of really crazy stuff that was even funner to read. For some reason I dont remember what any rumors were back in 2000, but one I do remember was that before s:uf was built, everyone though we would get a hyper-floorless with 8 inversions over the lakes by the dropoff, and right by all those little houses. tjose people woulda been thrilled!

Another thing that wasnt a rumor but never got built was the 100 million doolar add on or whatever on the other side of I-94 that was to include a 24 acre water park, a downtown disney type district, appartments for employees from out of the country, and a hotel. That was actrually proposed but 9/11 killed it.

if you wanna see some wacky rumors made completely for fun, check out coasterforce.com (if it even exists anymore) and go to humors or sumthin lik that.
