Take The Tour

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Maggie&meSFGAm? on August 13th, 2004, 12:27 pm
Considering that the Chicago Cubs have tours, why not amusement parks especially SFGAm? Of course, it wouldn't be during park hours, but before the season starts. I would say maybe they should do it the last two weekends in April. I would love to see the other side of SFGAm and I even think some of the GP would to. It would be a great experience if this did come true. Time will only tell though. So, what do you think?

They have those at Brookfield Zoo. At like 7am in January. That would be awesoem for SFGAm. I'd sign up! 8)

A good idea but I don't think it would happen for these reasons:

A. During that time, there is construction and planning for the new season.

B. What would there really be to see? "Here is our office, it looks like a normal office. Here is the employee cafeteria." It isn't a factory tour.

If you want to see the other side of SFGAm, go on IW to see the employee lot and, and go on Triple Play to see the middle of the park.

I agree but there should be some sort of tour that shows the rides in winter or shows sfgam as a ghost town.
I want the sfgam survivor to be held every July and August.

It wouldn't really be a ghost town with a big tour going through it.

I might be able to get a tour just because my preschool teacher goes to my church and also works at sfgam. She or a guy that also works at sfgam goes to my church.

Well she was my preschool teacher and she's nice to me and she likes me so I might be able to get a tour to sfgam.

And how is it gross? You sound like you're ten and just learned about you-know-what.

Anyways, to stay on topic: It would be cool for the enthusiasts, but for the GP, it probably wouldn't be too popular. There's stuff they probably don't want the GP to see either, but I really have no clue. There's not too much to see; it's not like the Disney tours.

If you want to get in the back of the park, take the parade, they let you off in the middle employee area, and let you stay in there for a few minutes, and you can see Edge's footers.

I don't mean to be dumb, but what are footers? The whole park is not under construction the last two weeks before it opens. Good idea coasterinsane. I would go to that.

Cause they arent in the way of anything and it costs money to pull them up. You can still see one of the main tower footers from the train with all the rusted bolts sticking up, and from Power Dive's old queue and exit ramp, the smaller footers were everywhere.

Speaking of the Edge. . . if you want the full tour you have to come see the nasty tower at GL. It's operated for half a day and had to do a walkdown to get people off. It's a POS.

Who would be dumb enough to waste money looking at rides when they can wait until it opens and ride them. in my opinion, this is a dumb topic.

Sorry guys. There isn't much to see in the backstage areas at SFGAm. Dumpsters, the back of buildings, thats about it.

The Magic Kingdom offers in WDW offers a plethora of backstage tours, ones that will take you in the tunnels under the park, architecture tours, and steam train tours. If you want to see behind the scenes at a theme park, go to WDW and take one there. They are great.
