The first one wasn't overly crowded in my opinion but don't expect walk-ons...espicially since this one is in July.

The first one was more crowded then I expected. most of the rides had about a 10-15 min wait. Demon was a walk on.

There are a few trip reports from the event in the trip reports section that will really help you out. I would pretty much expect. I think this one will be about the same as the last one due to storms forecasted and the late closing time. Plus, two more rides should be in operation this time that weren't last time.(DejaVu, Revolution)

FYI-Iron Wolf, American Eagle, Demon and Giant Drop were all walk-ons last time. Whizzer had a very short wait. I'm sure Spacelys had no wait too.

The first one was defiantly much more crowded than i thought it would be, it seems like everyone in the park upgraded their ticket to a season pass to be in the CAD. They have signs in front of most rides to say they will be closing the lines early for CAD, and if you want to participate, upgrade your ticket to a season pass.

WEATHER UPDATE

At about 3:00 today, it was pouring here in Gurnee. The storms have passed according to the skies and the radar. However, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 9 something tonight.

I was driving down Grand Ave. just past Hunt Club Rd. and this teen drops his Game Boy Advance into the little step next to the sliding door in the van (it's usually black if you know what I'm talking about) When we got to a red light, he opened the door to get it and it fell out. I knocked on my window and sort of game him a "Spaz!" look. He just laughed. I thought I'd tell you all.

Anyway, I'm off to CAD now.

Sounds like it will be a good event as far as attendance, with the rain scaring away most people.

There was about a 10 minute period at GAm today of steady rain (I was there from 8:30am to 12:30am ).

Good night? Crowded as heck. Rajun Cajun was using 4 switchbacks and the line was out to the bridge at one point.

Very crowded, again some of the lines actually increased after dark then they were at about 7 or 8 PM.

Of course Brad had nothing to worry about, he got to use somebody's exit pass all night. :x

Yeah, CAD was more crowded than I expected. But I won't complain with 2 extra hours that they didn't have to give us.

Is there some kind of law that says that they can't run the rides after a certain time? Last time they wouldn't let me in line for RB, and this time they wouldn't let me into RC. They told everyone, both times that the wait was too long and that if anyone else came into it, it would surpass their time limit.

They probably just knew those were the most popular coasters and didn't feel like running them until 1 AM. (Rajin Cajun and Superman more than Raging Bull.)

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a time limit that they can be opened until.

It's just so the ops won't have to go home too late. How would you like to get off work at maybe 1:15 and have to be up at 7, six hours later?

yes, and it was the best one yet, the crowds were not bad at all, I think that the weather kept a lot of people away

Lines were certainly reasonable last night. The weather definitely had an effect on the crowds, which was great for those of us that were there.

I figured the crowds wouldn't be too bad so I came to the park earlier than I had planned and got quite a few rides before CAD got started.

Hopefully they'll do CAD again next season!

Yeah, everything was basically lines up to the station air gates (with the expection of Vu, which then closed, RC, and V2) Superman also closed quite early. I don't know if it broke, or it was just to give the ops a chance to go home early.
