What ever happend to the vine caged tunnels by Demon, that gave cool shade from the heat? I just noticed they were gone. Anybody know why they took them out?

Anybody remeber what I'm reffering to?

They took them out when they took out Sky Whirl and put in Deja Vu. The Deja Vu Games are now where they used to be. It took me almost a year to realize they were gone lol...so I didn't really miss them.

Oh yeah, that makes sence. I'll miss them in late July, early August. They need some things like these in SWT.

Yes, it used to be by Sky Whirl. The reason why it's gone is so they could put D Vu games and a wood shop over there. They also extended where Sky Whirl was (now D Vu is) just a tad bit.

So wait...the vine tunnels took that whole path way where Demon section is? A lot has changed in this park. And I somewhat do remember the vines but do not remember where they were.

The entrance to Sky Whirl was right at the start of tunnel if you were walking towards American Eagle. The start of the tunnel was just about in line with Demon's old exit.

I dont know why they tore it down I mean they could still have it up just tear down the games for De Ja Vu and put it somewhere else. Also the entrance to De Ja Vu is in the same location for the Sky Whirl so if they had the vine tunnel for Sky Whirl they could still have it.

For the Demon entrance, before you exited by Splash Water Falls (on the left side of the Demon). Haybaler was taken out in place of where D Vu now puts it's supports. It was a little further back by the food stand next to the D Vu ride. Besides putting games by D Vu, they also put a game by Demon (basketball).

The vine once took up about 3/4 of the walkway, so you didn't have to walk under it if you didn't want to.

In the first picture, you see circles that include the name Sky Whirl. You'll soon find out that this will help you find the vine in the next picture. I also want you to notice the blue stand, in which now they make wood signs. Today, this is to the right of the D Vu entrance. So, this proves that the Sky Whirl sign is more to the right than the D Vu entrance was.

Remember, those white circles. Look to the left of them and you will see the green vine. As you can see, there are no games around the area. It's not a great picture, but it's the best I could find.

Trust me the basketball game was always there by Demon, at least since I could remember since like 95. In that second link that photo is from Marriott's Great America so its at least 15 years old, of course that game wasn't there. I'm sure other people remember going down Demon's old exit and comming out next to the baseketball game because it was like that not to long ago.

Maybe, your right about that, but before it was a basketball game, it was one of those squirt the target, and pop the balloon games.

^Oops on me again, that is the California park (second picture). However, trust me that it was the same way. They made those two areas in both parks so similiar.

The vine tunnel was cool. I remember seeing little kids afraid of going through it.

Do you think that could have been one of the reasons to take it down?

Yeah, I believe they had two of them going to DC Comics area.

At SFOG, they had that one before you get to the American area.

Randal Duell must have liked the arbors. SFGAm, PGA, SFOG, and I think SFStL were designed by Duell, and all of them have/had the arbors.

To see pictures of Duell, click below:
