SFGAm "NOT OPERATING TODAY" sign

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby TwistedSTEEL666 on July 12th, 2004, 6:27 pm
Ok, when your're waiting behind the gate waiting to be let into the park, you might notice the "NOT OPERATING TODAY" sign the park has in the area of metal dectors 5-10, however do they have a sign like that by the season pass enterance? Last time I was there, I didn't see one, do they have one by the season pass enterance?

Yeah I believe they do. They also list all the attractions that might not be operating at every ticket booth.

Last time I went in later June, they did NOT have a sign by the Season Pass entrance. They had some on the other side though. I guess many season pass holders already know what's open.

Actually many season pass holders(if not all) do not know what rides are closed on any given day. I wouldn't be able to tell you what will be closed tomorrow, but I sort of know what to expect. Last time I checked, there was not a "these rides will not open today" sign by the season pass entrance. Last I checked, I didn't even notice the signs that Dave mentioned. I only saw the "chance of rain" sign.

My first theory is that the park thinks that the season pass holders have been there so many times, that they "don't really care" what's open. If it's your first time this year and last time, you especially want a ride to be open because you won't be back.

My second theory is that the other sign broke, and they are ordering a new one.

My third theory is that there is not as much room on that side compared to the other side. However, they did have a sign on that side before.

My last theory is what I said before. The park believes that season pass holders have been there so many times that they "know" what's open.

Well to me SFGAm is being ignorant when the third theory is in action.

I was just kidding about locking you. Heck I'm not even a mod so that was a waste of space. Please don't hurt me for that.

Yea, I know. I did my post the wrong way. I know your not a mod. My theory though would be that they just don't have another sign for the season pass entrance and figure that they don't need one. You have to remember that all season pass holders haven't been to the park before. Some could be from other parks.

Yeah, but if you get a season pass and you had never been to the park before and you don't like it then that's a waste of money.

Most people (general public) don't buy season passes unless they have visited a park many times.

Well, yeah but I think I'm more of an SFGAm enthusiast than a coaster enthusiast just because that's the only SF park I've been to unless you count SFEG which I've only been to once.

I would count that as a visit to another six flags park.

Well in my opinion SFEG isn't the best Six Flags has to offer.

There used to be a sign there it is no longer there. They also have not had the sheet of paper with the lists of closed rides at the ticket booth the times that I look which is almost all of my visits.

If you care so much about which rides are closed walk the extra 20 feet out of your way to the signs at the other gates and see what rides may not be operating.

Every time I have entered the Season Pass entrance, there has been no sign, the only one I see is the one by the entrance 5-10

As SfGaM ownz stated they used to have one there, since then they have gotten new signs and the old ones dissapeared. There are only 2 of them now, both out at the regular gates.

Most people who have passes only get them to go two or three times a year. They aren't obsessed with it like some people, no offense to anyone on the site.

Are the signs inside or outside of the regular gate. If they are outside, then you look at them and see what is closed and then determine if you still wanna pay to get it. The season pass gate doesn't need this because they are not paying to get in. So they won't feel like they got ripped off because something was closed, since they didn't pay full price that day to get in.
That's my theory on it. makes the most sense to me.

OK. That's why I was asking if the signs were inside or outside the gates.
