The best seats!

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby King_Chaos on July 4th, 2004, 10:49 pm
Hello everyone,
I was wondering what the best seats are on all rides. I figured a few out. I know these are my opinions only:
Raging Bull: Back row
AEB: last row facing backwards so it appears as if you are falling out
V2: I like the back row, you are highest when the breaks "grip" the car
Superman: front row
Viper: I have heard 1:3 or 3:1, but have no idea what this means
AER: Back row
Iron Wolf: ?
Deja Vu: Had a question about this, since I've never been on it. The seats are in a V shape, so if you go with another person, do you have to sit side by side, or does one take a front V, and the other on the side? It is just that then one person is behind and to the left of the other...
RC: Side or Middle?
Batman: I like the front
Whizzer: I don't like any seats at all
Demon: Front Row
Let me know what you think. Thanks everyone!

I've always heard that the back row, left seat is the best on the B&M coasters (batman, superman) because its more intense, i noticed it on batman, but batman's always intense, so its hard to say. Demon is definately better in the front, so's RB. RC is fun when your on your own on one side, because you slide around. I prefere to sit in the middle or in the front on Deja Vu and V2 because when your in the front you go higher and see the top of the towers or you have nothing in front of you when your facing down, and the middle because your the same height on both towers. I second the AMB in the "back" because you can see all of the wood on the track as it whizzes out from under you, the zigzaggy-ness is cool.

I think RB is sweet in the back row. What about the seating on DV? I don't understand how it works. Do you sit together in the front row in the middle seats together, or in the front row on the edge seats?

two together in the front, and right behind those people is a support, on the sides of the support are the other two seats
S=Seat P=Pole
. SS
S P S
. SS
S p S
. SS
... and so on
I hope that helps...

With D Vu, it is two seats together, and then two seats apart, rotating till the last row is two seats apart. The seats apart are on the side of the seats together. So, if you look farther at the ride straight, it kind of looks like a RB row of four seats in one row, but it's not.

With two seats together besides the front row, you don't really feel like you are falling out because you have the back of the outer seats in front of you.

So, I usually pick the back row outer seats. The greater chance of me falling out, just kidding. I love the back because when you go up the first 90 degree tower, it is one of the greatest elements of the ride. You do this twice of course. However, the other tower you only do once, so I go for the back. Both towers are unique though.

With RB, the back is definetely the best especially because of the first drop.

With V2, I love the front because of the spike or spiral which I call it. Also, you are doing this side three times. The other side isn't the same. I like the do the Superman thing when you stop in mid-air.

Demon-Not the front, not good.

Iron Wolf, RC, Am E, and the rest do not matter.

I am in love with the backrow of Superman. I think it's amazing in the pretzel loop. I'm not a fan of the front row.

Ok, thanks everyone! Thanks yeti_cat that helps! So the outer seats on DV are by far the best seats and the inner two (no matter where you sit) are crap?

Superman- Back is most intense and front is more fun.

Ragin Cajun- I've only sat on the sides of the car and have yet to have the overly 'rough' ride that people claim it is.

Batman- I like the front for the views(especially at night), but anywhere else is great too.

V2- The front is way better for me because you go higher up the spiral and get the best views. The back hardly spirals.

Iron Wolf- The front is great for views and is hardly rough. The back has been known for being rough and very intense, but on a recent ride in the back, I had a very fun and comfortable ride.

AEB- The 'normal' front row
AER-Front is great for an out of control feeling and views. Back has awesome floating airtime on the first drop and throughout the ride.

Demon- I like the front and as mentioned above, 6:1 is fun.

DejaVu- I like 1A or 1B for views, and 8B was ok but I would ride the front if the line is not too long.

Raging Bull- The front is awesome for views(and the line moves fast in 3 train op) and the back has awesome airtime(especially on the 1st drop).

Viper- I have ridden everywhere on the train and row 1:3(row 3 of the train) is by far the best. Row 4 hardly matched up to row 3. The back is your next best bet.

Whizzer- The back is rougher but seems faster and the front is more comfortable and smoother. It doesn't really matter where you sit.

Spacelys- sit really wherever you want, but make sure you have a kid with you.

I usually ride what ever I can get and I dont know why Im responding to this but here it goes. This is what I PREFER to ride in on the Six Flags Great America coasters.

it goes...Coaster Name: Car-row

Whizzer: 1-1, 4-1, 4-3
Demon: 1-1, 2, 6-1
American Eagle Red: 1-1, 5-1, 5-3
American Eagle Blue: 1-1, 5-1, 5-3
Iron Wolf: Any
Batman: the Ride: Any
Viper: 1-1, 1-3, 5-1, 5-3
Spacleys Sprocket Rockets: Any
Raging Bull: 1, 3, 8, 9
Vertical Velocity V2: 1, 2, 3, 13, 14
Deja Vu: 1A, 1B, 7B, 8B
Superman Ultimate Flight: 1, 3, 8
Ragin Cajun...ahhhh lol

yeah thats it I will ride anywhere but those are the seats I prefer. This is a silly topic.

Unless you are scared of falling out, sit in an outer seat. It's greeeaaat. I've been in an inner seat a couple of times, but the other times were so much better. It depends on the person.

Yeah I guess it's a silly topic, you yourself prefer one seat over another.

BTR: the best seat is defiantly row eight, far left seat, the most intense seat on the ride!! (I black out almost everytime in that seat and only that one seat)

On most coasters, I prefer the back seat only because I love that feeling of being "yanked" over hills. However, the only coaster I will only sit in the front for is Demon. Sitting in the back hurts when you hit the first drop. You come out of your seat and hit it hard.

I'll do a list version:

Raging Bull: Back row red train seat 3 (lapbar doesn't click low on that train for some reason.)
Demon: Back row
Iron Wolf: Front row is beautiful but backrow is most intense and you get the best kick of airtime before the corkskrew.
Batman: Front row is neat, but anywhere. Just so I can jam to the music inside the station.
Superman: Front is neat, I like the back the most though.
AER: Definatly front, gives an amazing ride.
AEB: Back row, gets crazy airtime.
Whizzer: Don't know, don't ride it enough...
Viper: Back row rocks, so does 1:3
RC: Haha
V2: I think I like front row the most, but it might be a tie with backrow. Just go to one of those for a good ride.
Deja Vu: 1A baby, espicially at night.

I'm sorry, maybe I'm not understanding something, but why does everyone say RC: HAHA, or RC back, or RN nothing? Is the side or middle better? Which one smashes you least?

On Viper, Ive began to notice something about the back row. The harnesses dont have as many clicks between them. BEcause whenever Ive gone on it, Ive had the steatbelt loose, and the farthest my lapbar would go down was about 3 -4 inches above my waist. Then again, my body could just have an odd shape.

Because there are no rows in RC, but some people can still say wether the inside or outside are better.

Here is my view on the seating:

Raging Bull: Back row definately (Especially at night)

Batman: Back row or Row #1

American Eagle Red: Back Row again lol amazing air time the last few rides on AER (Especially during EAGLE-THON 2004!)

American Eagle Blue: i usually dont care for AEB that much, but AEB is really good ANY row you choose.

DejaVu: The Back Row is a must, period you cannot get a better ride on Deja then in the back. 2nd to Rows A1,B1

Vertical Velocity: No preference

Viper: 1:3 Is great but the back row is best

Whizzer: No preference

Iron Wolf: The Front row hands down is best, but the last 3 rows are usually emptier in the station so i hit those.

Ragin Cajun: Ask Chitown about our famous rides on this, lol if you want to be violently spinning, have your larger riders sit to one side and your smaller riders on the other. Ask Tom also about this effect.

Superman: I love the front row, but i usually take AAR (any available row)

Demon: Front row blows... terrible

Spacely's: No preference

Those are my picks for best rows.

There are a lot of rows on Viper that do that. It is funny when I see people desperately try to push down the lap bar more because they think it is not working. :D

I agree with you King_Chaos with your ride seat selections except for the following:
V2: Front Row (You get the highest on the twisted loop and the view is great)

Superman: Back Row (It pulls the most g's and you literally get sucked down and then up)

Iron Wolf: Front Row (It hurts the least!!!)

Deja Vu: Front, Front Row (Best View)

Batman: Back row (pulls better G's)

Everyride is the best in the front and the back rows. The middle rows are for the weak.
