What makes SFGAm stand out?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby mazda8u on July 3rd, 2004, 4:41 pm
Hi everyone, been watching whats going on here for a while here, and here is my first post.

I really think SFGAm is one of the best parks in the world and definently the best Six Flags park. I have some reasons, but I want some more.

What do you guys think makes SFGAm one of the best parks and stand out?

Thanks

1. Wooden coasters are well kept
2. They have a good saftey record. non of the accidents that have a occured that I know of were as a result of ride op error or ride malfunction
3. good customer service
4. bathrooms every 2 feet and are mostly well kept
5. Its my home park what else can i say

1)The Best coaster selection in the world(Only park that comes close is Alton Towers)
2)Awsome Themeing, allways planting new trees and flowers...You rock tim black
3)Park is well thoughtout, easy to get from point A to Point B; without 30 minutes of walking.
4)Friendly staff
5)Inovating while promissing(excluding the Giant Inveted Boomberang) ideas are allways comming to us.
6)Awsome at Loading and unloading trains
7)Overall Six Flags Great America is ahead of its game when comparing it to other parks(there are many fields that SFGAm is and allways will be beating Cedar Point in.)
8)Jim Wintrode and Tim Black

...I have more, but i just can't think of them.

Sfgam is probably, in my opinion, the most underated SF park in the world! They should have put it in RCT2 instead of SFB!

Marriott built a world class park and now Six Flags is keeping up to those standards. I agree with all your comment above ditto for me. Also we have Larry Wine and Tim Black it's the best of times.

What makes SFGAm stand out? Well heres how I see it, SFGAm doesnt stand out, unfortunately. It may be and is in my opinon better than alot of parks that stand out to the public.

We are way, way, way undershot by the big time media, I mean ive seen atleast 4 coaster shows on discovery, travel channel etc.. that feature SFMW's V2 (before it was altered). I was like What is up with that. They could come tape our v2 and seeso much more, i mean MW has V2 and what? not alot, we have v2 along with 10 other world class coasters. Given SFMW is relatively closer to major Production town (hollywood) But it would be more than worth it for them to make the journey and show GAM some love

in my opinion it's nice that they don't do as much at GAm. It would just bug me to see people screaming "ahh ahh, that's Superman Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Great America; get out here and ride it!!!" in my opinion that's just plain dumb. Also it makes EVERY ride look better than it is, better underated than overated.

SFGAm is a treasure chest full of gold waiting to be discovered.

I think what makes it stand out is when someone passes it by on I-294 (I-94).

"Hey, let's go there!"

Yes thanks to Jim Wintrode too. He did a good job too. (Was he there for South West Territories?)

I think that TwistedSTEEL666 said it best :
SFGAm is a treasure chest full of gold waiting to be discovered.

And, by the way, Tim Black (Jim was) the park GM. Larry is a high up operations manager as well.

I think the things that make it the best park, to me at least, is the great rides, the way the park is kept up, the Themeing, that is not actually that bad compared to some parks (take Geauga Lake for example), and the constant capital improvements (new rides).
Thats what I think!

Yes, the first drop is amazing. But I have been on rides with better.

Compared it to other coasters in the world, not just the park. How is it better (or is it?) than other B&M Speed Coasters?

Heck, American Eagle forwards is producing some nice airtime lately including on the first drop.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
