King Chaos Review

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Papas on June 24th, 2004, 10:17 pm
So I got to the park at 10 today, very late for me so I went to Demon. While walking back in County Fair twords Eagle I ran into Nolan (SFGAm ShockWave) and he menchined how King Chaos was open. So after riding Eagle and B:TR I was pretty excieted to get on King Chaos. I rode 4 times today, twice in front twice in back.
First off, it just swings back and forth for a long time which is extremely boring, but looking up at the sky seemed to thrill a lot of people . Also the sun KILLED my eyes even though there were dark clouds, definitly not something i'd want to ride on a sunny day. So it swings back and forth for awhile before finnally going up and around, it was moderatley excieting I personally think the best thing about it was the awesome view of S:UF, lol. It goes upside down a few times then unlocks and swings once which is a neat suprise. Then it swings back and forth a couple more times before slowly bringing you back down it looks like your gonna go straight into the pond, until it slowly moves back into park .
In conclusion, King Chaos is decent at best, although I can't say I expected much different.

Also the restraints come down and they don't stop coming down so they can REALLY hurt. The cabin is tight and the restraints are real tight.

I went on King Chaos like at 8:30 pm today.

I thought it was a joke... but its a old, portable HUSS Top Spin what can you expect. The view of Superman upside down is cool. But yeah whatever its a ride and at least it look awesome  .

I've been on a ride that did that... Man did it hurt. So now I know what to expect... Nice review though. Sounds decent. Then again, I love the feeling of rocking back and forth, so maybe I'll like it a lot.

My bad review? My review was generous! :)

I figured out the reason why I kept riding it was because it left me wanting more, mainly cause it never delivered in the first place .

I guess all we can do is hope that SFGAM finds a better program, because Top Spins do have the ability to kick some ass.

POWER DIVE come to mind. Anyone that's been on it, better, worse, or the same than Power Dive?

Thats one ride I've never been on....Powerdive. I started riding coasters right after powerdive got taken out. Ever since that I loved them and can't get enough of them. Theres a ride at a carnival by my house called Family Days, or as I call it Oak Lawn Fest, anyways, it's called the inverter, it goes up and it "inverts". It goes up like TrailBlazer in Southwest Territory except as it goes up it goes upside down. When the restraints come down they push tight, but then this little orange bar thing comes down in front of the as a safety device in case the harness came loose, it pushes the harness down so tight because it operates on hydraulics, when it goes upside down all ur weight is on ur quads and it hurts so bad. And I'm really skinny I cant even imagine how a bigger person would feel.

You have to know how to ride it... The restraints don't have to be painful. Also, is the program not random or something? It just plays the same one every time? If so, that's pretty lame.

Was the looping starship also made by Huss? The one at Valleyfair! also did the same thing but I didn't find it unbearable.

I was there yesterday, too. And KC's line was walk-on most of the time. But then again, the ride was breaking down mostly every other run-through. Heck, it broke down right at the top of the first inversion the 4th time I rode it. For a minute there, I thought it was a multiple program until the arms moved the gondala over the water in the upright position.

And for those wondering - I have park employee certification on this one - KC WILL HAVE WATER JETS. Heck, the way the end of the program runs, it's blatantly obvious it'll have jets to begin with!

If it is anything like Power Dive, I believe that it was made by Intamin. (With non-java phone, you can't do url's, Sorry) You can check out

to find out if it looks like the Looping Starship. I went SFOG and they had a ride called Looping Starship which was the same as Power Dive.

My only complaint is it needs to spin you more than it does and that horrible screech but that will most likely be worked out. Awsome ride otherwise! I'm glad it is finnaly open. :D
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

like I sort of said above...the ride is not working correctly yet, safe yes, but it is not spinning riders the correct number of times.

Ok today I rode it like 4.25 times it was giving "good" rides. Even though the program right now is pretty weak its still a fun ride and Im glad the park got it working.

I really miss the lemon chill guy too, I almost always got a rasberry chill while entering a full queue for Superman, it always made the line go faster.
