Fat Saturday

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Ron/Wolf on June 19th, 2004, 7:30 pm
I was talking with our ACE Reginal Rep. and it seens they could use a few more people to attend. Now before you say Why should I pay extra well, ERT on Ragin Cajin and Batman a free lunch and the picnic grove offer great all you can eat. I know some of you may not like ACE but with this you will see how both Mr. Bolton and Great America want to say a special Thanks to all attendies. It will be full and lots of ride time give it a chance I look forward to meeting many of you fine people.

On a serious note, I'll consider going if you can promise me that if i hear loads of crap about how great Cedar Poiny is, you will have to buy me dinner.

Sorry guys but we can't get around bias. So what if I like Kings Island over Cedar Point. A bigger point that makes me laugh is I'm being brought to task on being A SFGA Fanboy Hello Is this not a site about Great America. Look I am not at Coaster Con at Cedar Point this week yes on Friday I'll be back at Great America. A good friend of mine and ACER and Great America and Cedar Point and Paramount parks Season Pass holder puts it best her favorite Coaster is the one she's in line for at the present moment. Now Hopefully by Fat Saturday Cedar Point will not be the topic of discussion. The people attending with me will rescue you from the C.P. Fanboys we promise, but no free dinner, just enjoy our Great Park, could be worse you could live in Cleveland.

As far as I am concerned, both CP and SFGAm excel in what they do.

Heck, in my opinion SFGAm is the flagship park of SF and we all know CP is the flagship of CF.

Both are well run parks EQUALLY.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but in my opinion it's whatever park is liked best by the company is considered the "flagship" park. Many people who have not been to SFGAm probably don't know how great of a park we have. And if they havn't been to SFMM they probably think that it's the best SF park out there. Just my 3 cents...

We are the most under-rated park, I think because I think we have the best Six Flags park

I think what GA lacks is market ability as a vacation destination. CP has so much to offer in the area like The African Wildlife Safari, Merry-go-Roun meusem, Put-IN-Bay Island and soak city. If GA had attractions like this around they would be a excelent Vacation destination with their line up of rides.
Back on subject I''ll be at Fatsaturday with my two kids.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

Well Iggy, if you are going to base CP as a vacation destination based on nearby attractions, then SFGAm easily competes with CP if not exceeds it.

1. Illinois Beach State Park
2. Volo Auto Museum
3. Great Lakes Naval Base
4. Waukegan Harbor
5. Chain O' Lakes
6. Onan Pyramid House

And of course SFGAm is close to one of the greatest cities in the country (Chicago) and all of what it has to offer. CP near Cleveland doesn't even come close to Chicago in terms of things to do.

I don't believe "we" are the most underrated park mainly because theres no "we." They do all the work I just go and ride stuff.
And yes I believe GAm is BY FAR the best North American SF park. I never, ever plan on going to SFMM.

Totally agree with you 100% chitown.... BUT! SF doesnt market these things. Cedar Point runs commercials all over the U.S, sends away getaway guides, and the sort, I believe if SF did this, we Could become alot better of a resort park rather than a destination park.

Cedar point also has lake erie right there there own resorts and resort guests get in an hour early the hotels have packages that offer free tickets and buy on get one free and food stuff ect. They also have billboards here. I think that if great america had maybe half or all of this to offer they would be alot heigher on attendence.

Another thing is that CP is much bigger and much more room GAm, and having people coming from around the world and creating a resort would make the park impossible to walk through and with the maxium capacity set up by Gurnee, it would be hard to have that many people in the park.
