Just woundering why does it hurt your anckels after a water ride? To explane every year I go I try to at least get on one water ride. For example. I go on splash water falls. Then I go over to V2. Jump on, go through the ride sequnce. Jump off and it feels like I just spraind my anckles. Why does it hurt? Thanx for any help.

I think your legs have a disease which is lifethreatening . Seriously thiough I have no idea would happen, except maybe the extra wieght of the water on your ankles.

That happens to me on all coasters without a floor, whenever I get off really fast my ankles give out on me. I think it's because there is a lack of blood down there after those coasters. Just get off the seat slowly and that won't happen.

I have no idea what that has to do with a water ride though.

That happens to me everytime i get off of V2.... but instead of my ankels giving out it just hurts really bad to first walk on them. But i have noticed that when i get off the ride slowly it dosnt hurt as much.

Yeah, same here. It has nothing to do with the water. Its a lack of blood in your feet that when you jump off of V2 or somehting like it, your bones feel more stress then usual, and there your pain. So if you get off the train a little slower, it won't hurt.

Yep, everyones right. I actually have a pretty funny story about that. After my Giant Drop ride, I wanted to get back in line because it was so short, and I jumped off really quick, and both of my ankles gave out, and I fell right on the ground. A lot of people started laughing, and it was embarssing, but it felt so weird.

That exact same thing happened to me opening day 2003. It was the first time in forever that I had gone on Giant Drop and I fell to one knee, then I felt fine.

The blood rushes away from your legs and arms to your heart, hence why they ask anyone with any cardiac conditions not to ride.

I have that problem with Giant Drop, but only the ankle that I had broke does it. aybe if you have spraned or broke your ankle anytime in your life im sure that is a major contribute to the problem.

Also, the water could intensify the feeling of pain when you jumped off of V2, because if your legs are really cold it messes up the circulation or something. I asked my doctor about it once.

Well usually I go on a water ride before I ever reach any Inverted Coaster. Well that would explane it.

Woah wait a second people. On high G-Force rides such as Giant Drop, Batman, and V2 they blood is not rushing away from the legs, it's rushing INTO the legs. Your pulling a lot of positive G's (dowward) not negative (upward) so why would blood rush away from the legs. This makes you black out on Batman as the blood is no longer getting to your brain and eyes. Fighter jet pilots (who experience G's upwards of 9 Positive) wear inflatable bags around their legs that squeese the blood out of the legs to prevent blacking out/bursting of capalaries.

The reason why you probably feel this is because a gap forms between the joints in your ankles and when you jump down thoes gaps collapse (like cracking you knuckles) and the impact of the bones hitting eachother creates pain.

So again, It probably doesnt have anything to do with blood at all, more so the joints themselves. Hope this clears up the topic.
