I have often wondered why most of us. (Me included) will wait in line for a ride. Example: Opening Day 2004 Tom,Dave and I waited for a good 2 hours for DejaVu to open. But why? Why do we wait in line when we know its going to be a while?
Any ideas?
Did you ever seem to notice how fast time goes most of the time when your in line for a ride? Another example is for Raging Bull, there is a 3 train opperation and the first cue house is 1/2 full. Looking at my watch in line its about 130 lets say, by the time the ride ends its 215. But you standing there basically doing nothing should make that 45 minutes seem like its an eternity.
I know that I can come back many times in a season, if I really want to ride a ride I will ride it.
Example: 5/31 Raging Bull starts testing at 115 and I get into line. Opens at 445 with me the first one into the station after waiting 3.5 hours. I already rode everything I wanted to that day other than Raging Bull. It was a great ride because it's my favorite. Just like if I get to CP or SFMM I will ride X or TTD because I really want to see what they are like. I can wait it's not the end of the world.
Not to mention, I like holding Rock, Paper, Scizzor's tournaments or thumbwar's with my friends in line.

I almost never like to wait. When I actually feel like waiting, I don't really care how long it takes. Like on Memorial Day, when I got there, I wanted to go on Ragin' Cajun first. It started raining and it closed down, and I didn't care if I got soaked in the rain and had to wait 2-3 hours or didn't get to ride any other ride, I wanted to get on it.
But yeah as I said I don't like waiting... I'm not a very patient person. A one hour-hour and a half line is fine... anything longer than that can drive me nuts.
Call me crazy but I usually go at the peak of summer and so the lines are always long. I dont care really. To me it builds up anxiety to get on the ride and there are always some jokes along the way. Plus when I go with my cousins and they havent ridden a ride yet I can freak them out telling them its an easy ride when it is intense and then telling them once we are all locked in.
I wish I lived in Chicago so I could go to Six Flags more often!
Well to me it dosnt really matter how long a wait in line can be because i will usually be on my phone talking to my friends on AIM or i will be playing my gameboy..... hahaha
Waiting in line at SFGAm isn't really that "bad." The only ride I hate waiting in line for is DeJa Vu. I only ride DJV for my bestfriend. I hate it.
The worst wait that I EVER had was, waiting in Cedar Point's lines. Those are horrible. 3 Hours for Raptor, and it wasn't a "Busy" day for them.
But, waiting in line does add the effect of excitement. The closer you get to the station, the more you can't wait to get on the ride. It does make the ride more fun and exciting!

Cedar point doesn't have long lines...but I've only been once so what do I know. I though that cedar points lines were so bearable because everyone was in line for mantis, TTD, and MF all the other rides were basically walk ons. I tend to go to six flags alone so I don't get to have the fun of goofing off with buddies, which does make lines go faster. I hate waiting in line for batman and won't get in the line if i can see people in it. Superman's not worth its long line, and deja vu always closes on me, so I never get in line unless its really short. ( I was stuck on it for about a Half hour on Memorial day...yeehaw...) Everything else is usually pretty good. Except the occasional long line for viper. Line waiting is just part of the coaster experience. We all have to deal with it somehow. For me its just fun to watch people. See what they do when confronted with a long line. People watching is a great thing to do when waiting in a line.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.
When I went to CP, ALL lines were atleast out to entrance. It was ok though since the lines move fast and I had a couple of days to get on whatever I wanted.
I'll go for a walk on get on and think nothing of it(until im out of the station) but when theres a long line (deja vu) im like score only 6 more cycles!
