Another New Six Flags Comercial

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby planea380 on May 25th, 2004, 7:36 pm
Another new Six Flags comercial has premiered on American Idol tonight. It is not as good as the first, but has more of SFMM rides etc..

The plot:
A child and her dad are sitting and planning their week, then the old guy comes and does his thing. The girl goes screw the schuedel and the go to SFMM and show their rides. I donnot rember what the narrator says at the end. The comercial finishes with It's PLaytime.

You can see it at the Six Flags home page. It has some footage of Twisted Twins and Acrophobia as well.

I don't know what company is doing their ads this year, but they've done a fantastic job. The ads convey the sense of a break from everyday boredom... plus the fact that the old guy is hilarious. I've seen him on bilboards, in the newspaper, and on TV... plus the fact that the media loves the campaign. I don't know if you listen to Mancow on Q101, but over a few days, they've been spending a LOT of show time debating whether it's a real old guy or a costume. You can't buy that kind of publicity.

I saw that commercial and also saw a recent commercial advertising 6 feet long bubble gum tape and a promotion for you and your friends to get in front of all the lines at six flags. It didn't mention great america directly, so I'm not sure if it's all the parks or not.

I just saw a commerical about Jewel advertising on getting a season pass at their store N it showed footage of all the rides at the park. It was pretty cool.

I don't care if the old guy is real or fake I love him! This is the best commercial ever for the chain. I wear his shirt and I've heard he will be touring parks, starting with Great Adventure. Plus I love the music playing about every ten minutes in the park, Let's Party!

There's another commercial with kids in school and the old man coming to take them to six flags. You see fottage of Raging Bull and v2 and other rides at other parks.

I dont think I have seen alot of different commercials with the old guy. I think i have only seen the same one about 3 times? Yet i dont watch much local TV so that might be why.

If you've ever seen Jackass the movie then you know how easy it is to dress up a person in an oldperson suit. I also thought that Mancow and friends were making fun of the commercials.

The old guy is fake...its all make-up and special effects...plus, how many old guys can move the way the guy does in the commerical? There are certain characteristics you can see that will give away clues that the guy isnt old. Anyway, I agree with Ron/Wolf....real or fake..I love him!

The song plays at every 15 and 45 on the hour. It is a catchy tune, but I eventually got tired of it after a while.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
