Superior Customer Service at Great America

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on May 26th, 2004, 1:59 am
I think it should let it be known that i am personally writting a letter to SFGam Management. On how great they handled the CoasterBuzzCon 2004 ERT rain-out last Saturday. As many of you who where at the event know, The ERT was cancelled prompting Six Flags to step in and issue each Attendee 2(sometimes more) Fastlane passes, drink tickets, and some free gifts from the gift shop. Six Flags, provided excellent customer service and went above and beyond the call of duty on the 22nd. And for that i think they park management should be notified.

Personally, SFGam didnt have to provide us with anything that Saturday. More less what they provided us with. These actions by Six Flags made this customer more then satisfied on that particular visit.

What do you think about this Story? Reply here.

I think it was nice of them to do that. They did it because some people might have went crazy. Some people would go around swearing and all that because the lost the ERT. The least they could do was give fastlnae passes. As for other things, prizes and such, thats was above and beyond, so appluads to sfgam for great customer satisfaction.

I think they should stop kicking people out of lines for no reason and starting kicking people out of lines when they should be.

This year I see a distinct difference from last year regarding customer service. Last year nobody had a sense of humor, and many times would never talk to guests unless they were asked a question. Thats fine and good but this year employees are being friendlier and I hope they stay that way.

Yeah, papas, what do you mean.

Note to Galvan: I saw a license plate this morning that said "Galvan". I'm just like "It's like that guy on the boards" I thought it was funny.

Papas means line jumpers should get kicked out of line as opposed to people that didn't do anything against the rules.

I think that the customer service did the right thing to give out fast lanes to all the attendees of Coaster Buzz because it was better in some ways. It was a crowded day and we did use all 8 stamps, and got on rides that we couldn't get on during the ERT.

Hats off to the customer service for hanlding a bad situation and making it a good situation.

I don't think Six Flags throws people out of lines for absoutly no reason at all. There must be more to the story.

I hate when people walk in front of you in line to reach their friends, especially when it is a whole group of them, like 10 or 15. This always happens to me and gets me mad. I dont think it is funny at all, and they should be kicked out of the line by the ride op.

When I was there on Saturday at around 7:30pm Batman was a walk on.. we went on 3 times in a row.. well they made us get off and come back around the line which is fine.. well there was a group of guys behind us and it's hard to explain where they jumped (they jumped from the exit que into the entrance que) because it was faster but they almost jumped on me and knocked me down. Well there was a worker in the line sweeping up and he got right in this guys face because he line jumped. I was a little worried for him because this guy was pretty big but it was good to see them enforcing the rules. They couldn't exactally kick him out of line because there was no line.

A lot of times there aren't any "family" or "friends" near the front of the line...

I agree, they really went the extra mile with the free tickets today when they closed at 4pm. I went with two people who didnt have season passes, so this really makes it fair for them.

They really tried to get everything running until that time too, hope all the employees enjoy the day off! Thanks GAM!

I thought it was very nice of them to do that today, espicially after 2 good solid hours of downpoors.

It closed about 2 hours after it cleared up and no one was there, and they were expecting another storm.

That is very common practice. It's not the first time SFGAM has handed out Free Tickets to come another time. Most of the time, if they close early because bad weather they will have out free tickets. The Only chain that I am aware of that does not do this is Cedar Fair.

Okay, about people cutting in front of you/smoking in line... YOU, yes YOU can stop it. First off, if you're with a group of people and someone comes up to budge ahead of you in line, cut them off and let them know that they aren't getting in front of you. I'm not even joking, my friends and I do it all the time. If they still manage to get by, for god sakes tell a ride operator. Also let the people around you understand what's going on, so you have witnesses. I've gotten countless people kicked off of rides for linejumping by doing this. Also, if someone nearby is smoking, just ask them politely to put it out, and make them aware that there is no smoking in line.
