The New Rides

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby yeti_cat on May 24th, 2004, 8:30 pm
After having gone to 6 flags and trying 3 of the 5 new rides (the others weren't runnin yet...sigh) I was wondering what the overall opinions are on these.

My opinions on the ones I've been on..
JWR: If i was a little kid I"d be afraid of the jester heads, get shoved on it, and then hate it.
Revolution: Fantastic
Baloons: If we have swings do we need baloons too? They look nice though.

Mainly I'm curious if anyones been on the other two yet. Those are the ones looking good to me.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

Some people don't like thrill rides, so another balloon ride is great.

Ive only ridden Revolution so far. So.... I'd give it a 8/10. Its slow at first but it picks up speed, and starts to spin faster near the end.

I think the new rides are fun, especially BEB because after rain, you can get wet on them, and it is a lot of fun.

That *#!*$%!!! #@!! water

I hate that water "effect"!, got me twice on media day, the first time soaking me quite thoroughly (and trust me that water is anything but clean). Would help alot if they drilled a few small holes in that bottom bowl to let the water drain before it collects and spills greasy water all over people.

FParker were you that one in the black shirt that got soaked on the BEB and then switched to a different seat? It was like 5:15 am when it happened.

Yep, that was me. Actually happened tiwce that day to me :)

All it needs is a few small drain holes in that pan, or no pan at all like all the other baloon races, where they just have an open bottom that looks like an open balloon end. That water was pretty saturated with oil/grease from the hinge above the balloon where it attaches to the ride itself(and where water enters the baloon), and with oil floating, that's the first stuff to splash down on you.
