That's a golden birthday?
I thought 25 was considered golden.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Your golden birthday is when you turn a certain age the same day you were born. Meaning turning 23 on May 23rd. 25 would be silver. 50 would be gold.

No, golden birthday is that date you were born(or in this case opened) and that age. So if I were born on the 13th of June, when I turm 13 would be my golden birthday. If I were born on July 21st, when I turn 21 and go get drunk that would be my golden birthday. I think you get the picture.

So my golden birthday was when I turned 19? Born May 19th. So if I was born May 1st, my golden birthday was when I turned 1?
That is whacked.

Yep, I just had my golden birthday 20 on March 20th this year. But I didn't really find it to be any more special then any other birthday lol. So those who had it when they were 1 aren't missing much lol.

You know, I just realized that American Eagle was opened when SFGAm itself turned 5. Wonder what's in store for when the massive woodie we all know and some of us love turns 25

I hope it's still there. I keep hearing rumors of it being torn down one of these years.

American Eagle is a big name coaster, big crowd coaster, and in my opinion won't be going anywere for a LONG time.

I don't think that SFGAm would be dumb enough to get rid of a ride that regardless of how old it is still is in the top ten of tallest and fastest woodies.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

Ever see how big the entire queue line is for AE, think of having to wait throughout that entire thing...

I love that. On the busiest days, I have never waited more than 20 mins.

I remember those days of the 80's waiting in all those switchbacks under the tent. Back then it was the biggest deal in coasters. It's probably the only wooden coaster in history that broke the tallest and fastest record of any coaster including steel along with I believe the Beast at PKI.

It ran 3 trains on each side back when it had a line like that, 1 lapbar per row, with a specially picked crew.

I guess thats there was still a "60 minutes from this point when full" sign is up there. I couldn't imagine that it would still go anywhere near that fast now.

Did you know AE was #1 on all those categories from 1981-1990 when Mean Squeak opened?
These days that record would be broken in the year after
.
