Umm, too conflicting reports about Ragin Cajun. Tony said "yes, it was open to the public... I saw it running until about 12pm when I left. ".

Then Carlo said: "The ride is not nearly ready to open for the public."..."Expect it to open in about 2 weeks. "

So which is it, was it open to the public today or not? Also Carlo was it you who rode with the traffic reporter this morning on CBS 2, or where you one of the people who gave thier review of the ride?

Now, i'm not an expert, but it seems as if two weeks is a little bit too long for it to open. It shouldn't take too long for them to put up the line, airgates, and finish the block brakes.

Seems to long for me too, especially for a portable coaster that is made to be setup within a few days.

No, it was running for Media Only till about 12pm then all the crews were out there working on the ride. The were running wiring to the other breaks. It will not open this weekend for sure (that’s what I was told), but based on what I have seen and what people have told me I am estimating that it will take another 2 weeks.

If you want to check out Ragin' Cajun on the news, WGN-9 is having a segment on the news tonight at 9pm. The radio promo is calling it a "Tilt-A-Whirl meets a roller coaster."

She was very scared to go on the ride. When she screamed was the part when it started spinning. That Coaster was spinning so fast. If it spins like that when it opens, it will be a big hit. She was loud because she had a mic on her and I did not. When she arrived at the station she was so thankful that Her cameramen got the footage that they needed so she did not have to go on it again.

Yeah, I'll have to watch it. I taped ABC 7 News from 4:00 AM to 10:00 AM this morning, only to discover that they didn't feature it. However, I did see a 3 minute clip of the new Mummy Revenge ride at Universal, which opened this weekend.

Well guys, when I walked past Ragin' Cajun at around 11:30am or so trains of people were still riding it... So I didn't know if it was a special thing or if it was in fact open to the public. People were also in it's line, that isn't finished. So it was definitely working and running cycles even when the public was allowed in the park, but I don't know if the public was allowed access to it... So, that's about all I can say... I would suspect it shouldn't take long to get everything rockin', and it should open within the next week or two. It should spin the entire time and not just the 2nd level to the end... The first part is kinda boring.

Didn't you hear the sound of loud explosions in the park this morning? I think it was firecrackers. But I obviously don't think they would set off firecrackers in the morning.

It wasn't firecrackers. There were huge morters that were being shot off somewhere around the cave by Roaring Rapids, right off the train tracks after the bridge. We were covered in streamers and confetti and then the fireworks went off - the kind where it's a flash of light and a huge BANG (my favorite :D ) This was right after Bugs and the GM Tim Black (i think that was his name could be wrong) cut the ribbon from Orlean's Place to Mardi Gras.

I have been up since 3am this morning... I am so very tired, :)
