Sunday I was completely stapeled on Vu (to the point where I almost couldn't breath) Then I may have had too much wait on the harness it popped up only 1 click though on the first tower, scared the living crap outta me I thaught it was gonna come up . And this is coming from someone who's on coasters every day of his life.

well i already took my coaster trip for the year to san antonio. but about 2 weeks after i got back i was in a bad car accident ( a lady ran a stop sign an T-boned me going about 50 mph.). it messed up my knee and elbow a little and my lawyer said i should get enough money to take this trip and have ALOT left over. so i may add a few trips if its enough $. i have some other plans for the $ too, so maybe not. AUG 23- 27 if you see a guy w/ a georgia bulldogs hat or a tommy armour golf hat out walking around alone then say hi. it's probably me!!!! i can't wait. i'm gonna have to go to magic springs 5 or 6 times before then just to take the edge off :P

ok, actually plans have changed. Instead of staying at the Super8 Motel, we are now staying at Fairfield Inn on Grand Ave...

I made the reservation last night...

Is this very close to the park?? Plus I also read that there are some nice places to eat around there such as the Rainforest Cafe

Yep there is a Rainforest Cafe right there on Grand Ave in Gurnee Mills Mall! I love that place too! Such a great idea for a resturant.

If I rember Fairfield in is right off the tollway. I will look next time I pass by and get back to you if no one replies.

There is TONS of places to eat on Grand. Both across from the park and around and in the mall. Just so you know the mall is on the west side of the tollway and SFGAm is on the east side of the toll way. Rainforest is great (combo platter...mmmmm)! There is also an Olive garden next to SFGAm that is really good too. There is a tasty steak joint called Lone Star outside of the mall (I eat here all the time!). Fast food wise there is everything: Whitecastle, Steak and shake, McD, Long john silver/KFC (its a one stop shop), Taco hell, Wendies, Subway...I can go on forever. Trust me you wont go hungry while you are here :D .

Hey we were looking for a Quiznos when we left the park on Saturday and couldn't find one! Does anyone know if there is one nearby to the park? Thanks!

Driving Directions

These are the directions that Fairfield Inn's website gave me, now I'm pretty good on knowing how to get up there until I reach this part...is this info right??

Exit I-90 Express Ln,I-94 Express Ln,Kennedy Express Ln via ramp at sign reading "I-90 W Kennedy Expy to O'Hare / Rockford" and go Northwest for 800 feet 0.16
10 Continue on I-94 and go North for 36 miles 35.61
11 Exit I-94 via ramp at sign reading "IL-132 W Grand Ave" and go Southeast for 0.3 miles 0.27
12 Continue on IL-132,Grand Ave and go West for 0.9 miles 0.90
13 Turn right on N Hunt Club Rd,CR-W15,CR-29 and go North for 0.3 miles to Fairfield Inn Chicago Gurnee

Is that right coming up from I-90??

Its just going to be dark by the time I'm up there on the 6th...so I'm trying to plan ahead as much as possible...

Normally...when you plan too far ahead...well...something always happens...

I've been to Rainforest Cafe in Orlando...so I'm sure my g/f will like that since she has never been...

Tek your stay is very close to the park. Mabey a 10 min drive if that. Most of that 10 min is stop lights from the mall. Those direction will get you right there. You will see the roller costers several miles out when you cross 120 on 294(94). You may want to peek at this map this is a turn by turn map version. on step 12 the grey spot is Gurne Mills. Where you see the 2500ft SFGAm is just east of it (second stoplight west of the tollway).

Yes there will be a toll when you get off 90 onto 294. There are tolls on 90 and 294. I dont know the costs on 90 (been a long time since I have been out that way). You will have one when you get off of 90 onto 294 that is 50 cents.

The tolls sux. it suppose to be so they fixs the roads... lol.

You can fly through the IPASS lanes or just crash the toll gates (they are made of bulsa wood and shatter really easly). Just kidding please follow the rules of the tollway and pay your tolls.

lol... Just dig through the couch and find some loose change. The boths even takes pennies (its fun dumping 50 pennies in the boths). I am sure by the time you get up here you can find 2 dollars worth of change to cover your tolls. There are also Manual boths if you only find bills under the couch.
