Big Easy Water Balloons?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Galvan on May 18th, 2004, 11:24 am
Last Sunday while standing in line for BEB a very strange thing happened as the ride started to cycle. Just as the ride started a loud noise was heard and then suddenly water came showering down on the riders. Me,Dave and Tom found this to be one of the funniest things we've ever seen. The Ride was then immedately closed for a while. Then later we took another trip to the ride and onr car had water rain down on us again.

As much as it would suck to be one of the riders it would have been hilarious to be a spectator

Did that happen because of rain? Or because of a malfunction?

That'll give people a lot of problems/entertainment.

Supposed to happen?

Last time I checked, this was a dry ride. They need to patch the holes or seal any separations on the balloons.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I don't think there will be a way to stop it unless they reshape the balloons or something, so just don't gon on after a heavy rain :).

I got drenched yesterday just as the ride was ending. I had never heard of this before so it was quite a shock. the good news was my wet head matched my wet ass...if you can call that good news. :(
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

Only after a heavy rain. Hopefully, they'll modify the balloons a little bit to prevent it from happening. Also, we have been having a LOT of rain in Gurnee lately (with possible flooding alerts for the Des Plaines river) so it shouldn't be as bad in the future.
