In all of the press releases, it says Big Easy Balloons will give riders the chance to spin their car, but in the pictures of the ride in operation, it doesn't look like you can spin the car. Why did they change it so you can't? From what i've been hearing, the only thing that made those things fun was the ability to spin it like crazy.
From what I have heard, you will not be able to spin them. If you are actually are able to, that will be the first time I have heard of that happening.
Most of the similar balloon rides to this one that I have seen operating, you have never been able to spin the cars before.
I haven't read all of the press releases, but when I just checked out the press release on SFGAm's website, all I read was that Big Easy Balloons would give the riders a whirly view(no spinning).
I'm writing a research paper now on roller coasters, and I found an article online that was from the Chicago Tribune from April 30th that says the balloons spin. Here it is:
"...visitors can try the new Big Easy Balloons, which lift riders above the midway in baskets, each equipped with a center wheel for spin control."
