I'm going tomorrow.
Goliath, Demon, Viper and Eagle Red all have 2 trains. None of the B&Ms have their second train.

Bulls second train is on the storage track and looks close to be ready. Perhaps a chance it’s ready tomorrow. Batman’s second train is in still disabled in the storage track.

Also the Carousel is being painted so that is why that is closed. Towers windows that blew out from the wind have not been replaced yet.

Drop is ready but didn’t open today due to staffing. Operations were understandably on the slow side as there was lots of training going on.

They look fantastic. Seatbelts are a new lightweight plastic and are quite bulky. Guess this makes it easier for staff to see the actual buckle. New Lapbars are black instead of orange. Viper is still running better than ever with the exception of that one nasty pothole on the first drop.

Also, Siren's Curse is awesome and you should give it a try.

Yep. That pothole was bad.

Also the trains aren’t new. They are the same trains that just got refurbished by PTC. They look great though.

Giant Drop was open today and a total walk on when I rode it! I did 10x consecutive, a few times not leaving the ride.

With RBs new queue setup please don’t tell me it’s going to have a grouper at the station from now on. That’s the last coaster I want to see a grouper at.
Speaking of Giant Drop is it ever going to run with all 6 rows ever again?

Why is a grouper so bad? They were filling up seats well and taking row requests! As for giant drop that 6th car is on the ride but was sitting at the bottom not running.

Raging Bull will have a grouper at the top of the station. This is where Fast Lane is checked in so it’s now needed.

The grouper will have a tough job though getting all the rows filled once it has three trains.

Raging Bull having a grouper is the best thing they could do at that ride besides widening the unload side of the station. Full trains will be sent out. The line will move faster. The station will be less crowded. They will take row requests and accommodate you. This is not Cedar Point, where the employees are on a power trip and refuse to let you wait for the row you want. In my 38 years of coming to this park, I have never been denied a row request when there have been groupers.

I just liked it better when I could pick whatever row I wanted to on Bull. I’ll just have to request for the back rows from now on. Oh well I’ll get used to it after a while.

I agree with you about the grouper at Raging Bull. But on Sunday, even with grouper there I was able to request back row (I was assigned row 8 but ended up getting on Row 9 because there was an open seat) and then even scored a reride despite the grouper being there!

At least this years opening weekend felt better than last years. No mile long line just to get through security.
Random question but why is the SF app always set to Carowinds every time I open it? Anyone else noticed or experience that.

Does anyone else have a problem trying to install new version of Six Flags app? I made the mistake of deleting the prior version and my 5 year old phone is incompatible with the new version.

Other than buying a new phone, what options do I have ?

If there's duplicates just try each of them until one works.

I'm still not able to logon to the portal using my prior order # (I tried all 4) and my email! I had to visit guest services (Hometown Square) on Sunday to get a paper pass since they no longer give out plastic cards :o

The agent at Guest Services said my email wasn't attached to my account! How could that happen since I always use the SAME email? HE said he fixed it but I still can't logon to the portal.

And my phone can't handle the latest app version.

I did send 2 emails through the Six Flags "contact us" but haven't heard back yet.

Their IT dept is failing big time in my opinion....

Chaperone policy was updated, is now enforced all-day every day:
All guests 15 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone age 21 or older for entry into Six Flags Great America & Hurricane Harbor Chicago and must remain accompanied throughout the duration of their visit. This policy is enforced daily beginning at park opening, and the park reserves the right to implement it earlier as operational needs require.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ...it's just a ride

The pass portal was discontinued and a new one will be available soon

In other news, they are doing away with hand stamp for re-entry.

Stupid question, but does this mean that if I visit with my dad, my sister, and her friend (both are in middle school) and we split off into groups of two, (my dad and I and my sister and her friend) would a security guard eject them from the park if they were found after confirming they don't have their IDs or would they make an announcement, etc.?

Yes. They could ask you to leave. But from what I e seen and heard, if you’re not causing any trouble, there’s zero reason for security to interact with your group. Security is not going to be walking around the park checking IDs to ensure everyone is with their chaperone and together. The rule is written so if something does happen and the chaperone isn’t present, it’s very easy to throw them out etc.

Why are they getting rid of the hand stamp for re-entry? I think that's a much faster way to re-admit a person than having the person pull up his pass and the agent scans it. I have at least one friend who leaves his phone in the car after lunch so now he'll have to bring it with.

Also a "return ticket" for a person with a single day ticket could be ripe for frauds: Someone goes for half day, then leaves and gives his return ticket to someone else!!

I really wish they still gave us an option for a physical pass (plastic card).
