So it’s on its way to SFadv? Good, as I never thought it was going to return. There is a reason it left. And frankly, the last thing Great Adventure needs is another low capacity ride. Make it make sense lol.

Does the park leave it up there the whole off-season? I thought they brought it down. If they do bring it down, then whoever left it up there's an idiot.

It’s left up there when not operating to prevent the cables from smacking the tower. Giant Drop is the same. If you’re there at close you can see maintenance raise it up.

It does come down on occasion, for maintenance and other reasons. To say it was idiotic to leave it up there is just pure ignorance. It's done on purpose to keep the cables out of the elements and under tension. You'd be surprised how much wear cables smacking against the tower does.
It's not just an off season thing either, it happens on windy days where STT and Giant Drop are forced to close. Staff is trained to listen and look for the cables smacking the tower.

i've said this somewhere but i knew this for Giant Drop, and yet i didn't apply the same logic to Sky Trek.
I really hope it's not out of commision for the season, that would be awful
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
Actually I don't think so. Windows are made of Acrylic so it's fairly easy to work with. All they probably need is to cut two new windows, secure them, and fit the gasket to keep water out.
The part we don't know is how the handrail is looking.

Also, Siren's Curse is awesome and you should give it a try.

They even ran it during FF last year. They will get it running. Is there enough time to have it running by opening day? Maybe not. Put it was open all season last year (weather and winds permitting). So they seem pretty committed to it.
I don’t think opening day is out of the question. From what I remember, there wasn’t anything too involved holding the panels in place—just some weather stripping. Acrylic/plexiglass panels are also pretty easy to source and can be cut to the correct size and shape as needed in a few minutes.
