I'm wondering where it's going to go! Maybe around the perimeter? ChicagoCoasterGuy - I believe what you're saying. You have inside info......
A Giga would be the "WOW" ride that our park doesn't have. But don't sell our lineup short! I've talked with people who came to ride Goliath, X Flight and Maxx ( in addition to the other rides).
And hey, if we have to remove Little Slipper to make room for the Giga or new/delayed kids area, so be it!
Maybe we send Joker to Frontier City and bring back Ragin Cajun!
I also could see Giant Drop coming down to make way for the Skyscreamer from SFA. Giant Drop (or Generally Down as I've nicknamed it) rarely seems to run the 5 working cars and the 6th car is either removed or parked at the top. It seems like it's down often for "Weather" (when in reality its LOP - Lack of Personnel, as told to me by an operator a couple of years ago) and it rarely has a line except during Fright Fest. I hope I'm wrong since I love the ride!! SFStl removed their drop tower a couple of years ago. SFA has Voodoo Drop (smaller version of Giant Drop)
Brother, you're getting your hopes up a bit too high
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
The go karts and Kidzopolis are the two biggest eye sores in my opinion.
Whatever replaces the go karts, be it a new kids area, Rides from Six Flags America, a launched mine train coaster. Whatever, make it look nice!
Same thing with Kidzopolis. That area of the park should look beautiful. Fountains Infront of the American Eagle, concrete walkways, flat rides, a modern restaurant. Instead it looks like a half assed outdoor baby section from JC Penney
GreatAmericanfox wrote: Also a Giga is kinda pointless there's only so much that you can do with it until it doesn't feel special.
Absolutely no one says Raging Bull isn’t special. Your opinion is no doubt in the minority here. Everyone that loves thrilling roller coasters wants a Giga over kids rides at Great America.
GreatAmericanfox wrote:Also, the only way this thing will fit is if most rides in the park already get torn out or they do something in the parking lot (which i don't think they'll sacrifice more spaces just to have people who are parking further walk longer). I don't think this thing will be as long too so you guys are gonna be underwhelmed either way if it happens
If they can make Wrath fit, I’m sure they can make the Giga fit. And then when that happens, people will complain because they’re underwhelmed? How much do you think the park cares when people say Goliath is too short of an RMC? They don’t care, and the ride is one of the most popular in the park.
Goku1910 wrote:To me Goliath has aged like Milk. I can't even ride it on a wheel seat anymore without feeling battered. For me it's kind of front row or bust.
I won't go anywhere near the back of the train.
I find there's a 50/50 chance whether the ride will be rough no matter which seat I'm in. Haven't ridden front row yet since there's always a grouper at the station. Is it just me or does the grouper only honor row requests when you have a Flash Pass/Fast Lane? When I request a row, I'm always denied besides when I had a Flash Pass. Requested the back and no questions were asked. Could just be me though.

I Always request back row and get it on Goliath! Worst case I'll get row 11.
Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
ChicagoCoasterGuy did say he saw several blueprints and that one was in the center of the park and removed no existing rides. Perhaps this is one of the blueprints?
That would be hilarious if the Larson loop got replaced with a giga
Well this is exciting. I get the feeling these are real. It may not be what they end up going with, but I would be surprised if this is not currently on their drawing board.
I feel like the short layout makes it more likely that this is real lol. Thoosies dreaming would be a 1.5 mile long monster. Great America does a lot with a little but sadly that usually means short coasters.

Maybe, i knew it was never going to be long if its a giga lmao. Tho with it being really close to the residential areas i doubt it is a giga, since there's a 125ft limit for coasters/amusement devices within 500ft of residential neighborhoods. Also why would they remove Johnny Rockets aka indoor eating space. To me its either a family coaster or its completely fake

^That's not a strict limitation. It requires the park to request a variance from the Village Zoning Board which a Giga will require regardless because it's over 200ft. This is why no one saw Wrath of Rakshasa coming, because since it was under 200ft, it didn't need a variance.
2027 we should be on the lookout for signs about it and we will know. I got to attend the Village meeting for X-Flight back when the height restrictions were different. Quite the experience.

Tidal_Waver wrote:If the Giga opens in 2027, and the park chooses this layout, that Screamscape rumor will have been almost completely accurate.
The only thing missed is the manufacturer. The rumor said Intamin and the consensus so far is that this would be B&M.
I'd actually be open to a new-gen Intamin or even Mack. Our park is all B&M. Let's mix it up a little.
Even if it is a B&M Giga, I'd hope for future products (Cough, cough, Demon's eventual death) they spread their lineup out a little. After riding Siren's Curse, a Vekoma is now on my wish list, even if it's not a tilt. That was one of the wildest and smoothest coasters I've ridden and I loved every second of it.
