The first of (hopefully not) many parks to be closed, regardless of what you think of the park it’s never fun to see a park close. I always thought it was underrated.

As of yesterday, Six Flags America has officially closed its doors forever, to commemorate it, why not share some memorable stories from the park? Good or bad, ill start.

My one and only visit to Six Flags America back in 2019 was pretty fun honestly, I only spent half a day there because I wanted to make it to Hershey the same night but I'll probably regret not going again. Surprisingly enough, my favorite coaster there was Roar, I had someone tell me to get a front row ride on it and I was very surprised! It was a lot more fun than I expected.

I heard that someone took out a phone on superman on closing day and they had to force the rest of everyone still there to go home, honestly can't think of a more fitting send off. Thanks for the memories SFA! Hope to see you picked up by someone else very soon

I went July 1st this year for my first and only visit. The park overall was much nicer then I expected it to be, having been to Great Adventure the day before...I actually thought Six Flags America looked like the park that was in better shape.

The park was very empty, but some major storms were heading to the park so I only had about 2 hours to ride everything.

I started off with Apocalypse, it was good to ride Iron Wolf one last time. I always liked Iron Wolf here, I liked it much better as a stand up coaster though. I don't think the floorless trains have really improved any of the old stand up coasters. Hope to see it get relocated again, I think it would be a good addition to SFStl. maybe as a replacement to Ninja?

Roar was alright, wasn't rough but nothing really good about it.

Joker's Jinx was great, much better then the Flight of Fear coasters. One of the highlights of the park, it be nice if they could relocate this ride as well.

Superman was much better then I was expecting it to be, it looks bad in the POV's but had some really good airtime. Not much leg room in those trains, my knees were basically right up against the seat in front of me, so that short quick brake run wasn't much fun. I got lucky to get a few ride's on it, it opened late and was only open about a hour before the storms hit.

I saw a crew starting to arrive at Batwing, but the sky was getting really dark and unfortunately the storms would arrive before it ever opened. So I wasn't able to get a chance to ride it. Batwing is the only original Vekoma Flyer I didn't get to ride.

Ragin Cajun, was good to ride this one again. Rode it by myself and it was the most intense ride I ever had on Ragin Cajun. I spun more then I ever had before, good last ride to have on it.

Wild One was a really fun coaster, and it seemed like they kept good care of it.

As I was riding I could see the storms getting real close, so I hurried to Skywinder and that was a mistake....it was probably the second worst SLC I have ridden behind Nopuko at Lost Island.

The area they had rethemed around it looked really good though with the steam punk theme.

Overall the park looked really nice, I wish I had better weather. It was really hot and humid the whole time I was there, and by the time I got to the car the high winds and storms hit....so I headed towards Kings Dominion.

I went toward the end of August and will echo most everything said above. Joker tested for a while but never opened. The SLC was one of the better ones with the new restraints, but it still bucked like hell. Firebird's floorless trains were entirely a downgrade, sucked all the fun out of Iron Wolf. More positively Ragin Cajun as it ran at SFA is now my favorite mouse ever... spun like a top the entire second half, it was never that intense when it ran at SFGAm.

In a lot of ways the park reminded me of late-stage Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom -- I had very low expectations going in and found some tired corners here and there, but overall quite charming. Theming of the steampunk area was good for Six Flags standards, even.

I went to Six Flags America on 7/4/2024. The park was a big disappointment overall (even though I knew kind of what to expect): MANY rides were closed even though it was a major holiday! At least half of the coasters were on 1 train operations. The water ride with the rafts was closed.

Batwing was awful to ride. I only got 1 ride (back row) On Superman since it was closed almost all day and the leg shackles were quite uncomfortable.

Joker's Jink was fun but in my opinion Flight of Fear totally kills it since it's dark and the theming is THE BEST of any coaster I've ridden.

The Skyscreamer was fun and Voodoo Drop was fun (zero line for it)

Sadly Ragin Cajun wasn't running so I couldn't pick up that "new" credit.

And much of the customer base looked/acted like gang bangers (just being honest). The ride operators for the most part looked uninterested and didn't really care about hustling.

I'd say only Mt. Olympus was worse overall than Six Flags America.
