Is B&M becoming today’s generation of Arrow roughness?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Never been on an older Vekoma, so I can't speak to that but I can tell you Siren's Curse is one of the smoothest Roller Coasters I've ever ridden. Period.

I don't think the slewing rings are solely to blame, because the train amplifies any small imperfection in the track. This is why Wrath has a smoother ride in the first half compared to the second half since the 2nd half has tighter turns and transitions. It gives off a rushed design impression to me, almost like the 2nd half wasn't well thought out.

I guess I have a high pain tolerance after years of Iron Wolf and Demon marathons. Can't comment on anything else B&M has built since Valravn, but Wrath's rattle hasn't bothered me.

The only rides I wrote-off forever as being straight-up violent were T2, Time Warp, Green Lantern (SFMM) and Colossus Backwards with the trash Psyclone trains. I find anything built in the last 10 years topping those turds hard to believe.

Siren's Curse looks fun but as I predicted it's going to be down OFTEN due to the tilt track, etc.

I agree with you as I have a high pain tolerance as well! One of THE WORST coasters I've ever been on was Pegasus! That whole park is trash in my opinion.

The B&M trains? Had no idea they were ever on Colossus.

Backwards with the Psyclone trains was usually reserved for Fright Fest. In 2014 they ran them most of the season - being its last. They were heavy... thing bucked and jackhammered your spine through every vertical transition. I smiled a little when it self-immolated.

Psyclone was one of the roughest rollercoasters I've ever rode, and I swore I would never ride it again before the ride was even over. Those trains felt like they had square wheels. If I couldn't handle it when I was younger, I can't imagine how bad it would feel now.

Ironically enough, if I remember correctly I think those trains were designed by B&M.

Also, having just rode Firebird at Six Flags America last month. The new floorless trains seemed to make that ride way "rougher" then it ever was as Iron Wolf in my opinion.

They were B&M trains at the end. Had no idea idea those train ever rode on Colossus. But that makes sense since I never went to MM during Fright Fest. I was always trying to avoid the crowds.

MM used to be awesome when it was open every day in the winter. I would go on a random Tuesday and everything would be open and a walk on except X/X2. But even then those lines were super short. They’ve been running one train most of the season now and word around the camp fire is that the lines have been brutal.

Flashback/Z Force was also super brutal when it ran at Magic Mountain. And thank god they tore down Green Lantern. Y’all think Joker is bad lol!

Yeah Green Lantern was another coaster I got off of saying I was never going to ride again. Wasn't it supposed to go to La Ronde a few years ago, and it never happened.

When I first went to SFMM in 2003, Z-Force/Flashback was still standing but not operating so I never had the chance to ride it.

Yeah it was relocated to La Ronde and was supposed to open as Vipere but the Covid shutdowns led to it being scrapped, thankfully.

During my two day visit, it was down once. All those news articles you might be seeing online are way overblown. Just typical new ride syndrome.

As for the major downtime's where it's been evacuated, did you ever notice that's happened on very hot days? Doesn't surprise me all that much, machines and very hot humid days tend not to play very well.

^^ Being down is one thing but being evacuated is an entirely different story in my opinion.

BTW, Z-Force was technically an Intamin ride (but had B&M shaped track)

For me the more frequent evacuations are due to the tilt itself. Being stuck for 10-15 minutes on a lift hill is one thing, but tilted 45 degrees or more facing downward would be really uncomfortable after a while.

It's probably not even a Cedar Point Policy either, Vekoma probably recommends it for safety reasons. Evacuations aren't as big of a deal as people make them out to be. I've been on the ride op side of an evac, twice.

I still put this down to "New Ride Syndrome". Remember when Wrath opened it was having frequent power issues too.
