New For 2025 - Wrath of Rakshasa

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Goku1910 on May 23rd, 2025, 1:27 am
I was actually gonna ask about that. I was hearing rumblings on Facebook that Flash Pass and ADA are combined....which I seriously hope not as a season flash pass owner. Nothing says getting my money's worth quite like sitting in a 30+ minute line because both the FP and ADA's are backed up. Especially because I think regulations only allow one ADA per train....I could be wrong on that. Feel free to correct me.

And yes, that really happened to me at Maxx Force. I waited forever (on top of reservation time) because they were using the same lane for ADA/FP.

Sounds more like assumptions to me because I'm sure no one asked and I'm also pretty sure Wrath won't have Flash Pass for a few months at the bare minimum....or till 2026 if Striker is anything to go by.

Who all on here got to do the commercial shoot? Did you have any special "connections" or just fill out the application online? I missed the window by 30 minutes to apply :o

Just did media day that's it. Thought it was funny it was so nice out yesterday for the commercial shoot but the gloomy weather fit the ominous theme of the ride for media day. This topic is going to come to a close soon & that's sad. Can't wait to start talking about 2026 ;)

I was able to attend media day as well, sorry it took a little bit to circle back to the forum.

I've got 11 rides under my belt now. Only one of them was in row 1, and that was for my RPOV, so I definitely need another ride or two in the front without a giant camera in my face before I say what row is my favorite

I don't want to talk too much about the theming since it's still a work in progress. I definitely enjoyed what was there though. Something I noticed that I forgot to mention in my video was that there are some flood lights below station level that have some kind of program for when a train is dispatched, I thought that was a nice touch. John confirmed audio for the lift is coming.

coasterfanatic wrote:It’s not going to be any different than X Flight. It’s the nature of a ride that has seats that aren’t over the track. Im not worried. If it bothers you, sit in the middle seats.

I think coasterfanatic hit it on the nose pretty well. X-Flight is a great comparison. I will say, I had some rides in row 3 far left seat that were pretty jarring and worse than X-Flight. But then I had some rides in row 2 second to right seat that pleasantly surprised me compared to those row 3 left seat rides. Those rides were better than X-Flight in my opinion. Middle is generally good.

As for forces... the drop is fantastic. Immelmann was a little forgetful, maybe because (almost) every single dive has it. The forces weren't any different than any other dive Immelmann in my opinion. Maybe I would appreciate it more in the front row for the views with demon. The dive loop is pretty good. Some float at the apex, and the exit might have the best positive g's on the ride. The "Wrath Roll" as I have dubbed it was fantastic. The laterals are fantastic, even sitting in the middle. Something that was a little bit of a let down was the swooping turn afterwards. I was anticipating more g's. The 4th inversion has some float, a little more than the dive loop. The transition into the 5th inversion and the 5th inversion itself was probably the biggest surprise of the ride for me. It's a bit hard to describe... it's like tug of war and your opponent just quickly overwhelms your team and you get yanked forward super quickly. It's like the train is accelerating quickly through the inversion even though it's probably not getting much faster at all. But at the same time it has good float. Hard to describe but pleasantly surprised and a top 3 moment of the ride for me alongside the drop and Wrath Roll. Unfortunately this is followed by the letdown for the ride for me, the s bend turn. I was hoping for some airtime and I didn't really find it there. Plus at the apex of the element is the biggest shuffle of the ride. It's kinda like Wrath's Iron Menace moment. Even in the middle you will feel it. Not rough or painful though. The turn into the s-bend is good, the turn out of the s-bend was solid.

I never hit the brakes once thinking the ride was short. Each ride I understand the ride more and like it even more. A great addition and I'm excited to see the final product when they have all the theming in place. Like Dave (who I met for the first time, that was so cool!) I'd be happy to answer any questions the best I can.

Dan & I are gonna fight. lol kidding but I liked the Immelmann cause it gives a good slow pace of hangtime before the next inversions which in my opinion, deliver a quick pace throughout. The Immelmann is also SO photogenic against Bull, Maxx, & Demon. That blue just pops out at ya. It's stunning. I love the wrath roll for the constant flow of direction/spin but do have to agree, the final inversion was a surprise hit to pretty much all of us.

The merch looks cool! Hopefully the t shirts are good quality this time. I’ve had some Six Flags shirts that are practically ruined after a single wash. Always been hit or miss.

I’m looking at you specifically American Eagle T shirt from 2024 (that had a copy at Dollywood.)

Of course they'd do it on the day I work until 7PM.

Sweet, I think this is me... I'm assuming with it only being a short time, it's going to be packed. I really thought they would have done something more since media day was Thursday. Weird to have media day, then pause. Why not just wait until this week for media day if they were planning on not opening it until a week later, that way if everything not being ready was the issue, everything would have been a lot closer to being done.

That's easy. To build hype.

A Marketing tactic that's been around for a long time.

It probably would have been a massive headache to reschedule the videographer (Alpha & Omega) that did all the commercial shoots and Media Day. I have no idea if this is true, but I would imagine they were booked for the entire week for the events and to account for weather delays (which did happen). Alpha & Omega might not have been able to do the commercial shoots and Media Day this week, especially on short notice as a reschedule.

Thanks for posting these links!

Really stupid question: Is it possible to have your hands up on Wrath or are the restraints too wide? I looked through all of Anne's photos of commercial day and nobody has his/her hands up

OR did they expressly tell everyone not to put hands up (so you don't block others)?

For cedar fair commercials I don’t think they want anyone to have their hands up but definitely possible it’s extremely similar to xflight.
