Since SFGAm opened for the country’s bicentennial, the GP would be confused as why isn’t the park celebrating its 50th the year of the Semiquincentennial of America.

They should bring back the Marriott era area music for the rest of the lands, i'm tired of listening to pop music in the park and it kills the vibe for me. That's the least they can do for me, besides extra Looney Tunes rep

Agreed 1000% Getting rid of that classic music was one of the dumbest moves Six Flags ever made.

Most of the general public probably doesn’t even know how old the park is. I don’t think that has anything to do with it.

I'm getting the point here though - the park was legit made for the country's bicentennial so to honor the next milestone for the country at the park that was made for that exact reason just makes sense.

Not saying it doesn’t but the GP isn’t going to know the difference. If they did that, it would be for the park and the enthusiasts.

In addition to bringing back classic music, I've been saying for YEARS that they should play "Saturday in the Park" by Chicago! It's a local band and Great America IS a park!! It's a win-win!

gottastrata33 wrote:Honestly while this is a major addition, there doesn't seem to be that tie into the 50th anniversary. They have hardly mentioned it, if at all which is why I agree that will take place in 2026. With that said, that anniversary could simply be beautification & homage to the parks history with a smaller addition if one at all, just as we saw for the 40th. Goliath was announced before that so this could very much be the same.

Also I'm looking at the layout & it hit me that the first two elements are just basically one massive cobra roll after all. So I got my cobra roll. Haha

But in all seriousness, I'm floored by this thing. It's just amazing how it's placed so oddly that makes it stand out.

Gottastrata - how do you figure that Rak will have a Cobra Roll?

LOL it doesn't have one. But a cobra is shaped just like a tighter version of what we're getting - an Immelmann into a dive loop. Think about the shaping. It's not actually a cobra roll, just looks like one massive drawn out one ;)

Also, have we seen ANY track for this at the plant yet? I haven't seen anything. Little concerning if not cause people are always catching glimpses of the track for future coasters, speculating where it's going & we have yet to see any for this one yet.

As long as we see some track before the end of the season, I think we’re fine.

More artwork shared via ACE. Six Flags seems to lock their PR material down harder than before, not finding much else beyond screencaps from the teaser trailer.

With the pathway already being closed, I'm wondering if they're wanting to get work well underway so they can have enough done in the area to possibly have demon open for FF. As of right now, it does appear that won't be the case though but maybe they have a new plan.

Which pathway are you referring to? I was just there Saturday and the only thing I noticed that was different was the battle pathway being fenced off since they pushed the fence back. Demon Snacks is gonna have to come down so I don't see them allowing people to get super close.

It's going to be a very weird Fright Fest if they have to close that area off.

You have to walk through Southwest Territory to get to X-Flight. These pictures were on another forum.

Having that area completely closed off to guests is a good thing in my opinion.
It means some more serious work is going on.
My guess is drilling holes for the footers and getting cement into them.

Might still be a bit early for footer drilling, but I can definitely see that late Sept or early Oct.

If we're really lucky, we will see something vertical by closing weekend.

Oh so that's why they said Demon was closed on the app

Demon Snacks isn’t coming down
The park president confirmed this at the press conference/announcement. They are adding an exit shop next to that building for merchandise when getting off the ride.

What else would require blocking off the entire path to guests if it weren't footer drilling?
If that is what they are doing they might want to pour concrete as soon as possible.
It could very well take a month for the concrete to settle and harden before the footers can hold the weight of the supports and track on them.

Probably because to get rid of what's left of Battle's pathway the equipment needs to move closer to the midway?

Also, tearing down Demon Snacks which is right on top of the midway.

These big machines require a lot of clearance so they can't put the fence right on top of where they are working.

Footers I say are at least a month out.

Goku is right! I was at the park today and there was heavy equipment continuing to remove the debris from Suckaneer Battle! That entire path between Demon and the games is closed.

I understand that, and I can see it as a nice gift shop, but it’s gonna be a little cramped for sure with all the people exiting. As long as they sell those new “mini-videos” and a nanocoaster of Rak, I’m good.
