You mean Battle for Metropolis isn't a good fit for the Western Themed Southwest territory?
My dream for that part is for it to be like a Wile E and Road Runner themed area, like that's were you can have a Road Runner Family launch coaster and stuff
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
I can’t believe I just discovered this thread. Anyways, this is very exciting. This is about as good as it can get for a Dive Coaster in such a small plot of land. A lot of dives don’t do much and can be boring towards the end. This solves all that.
Also, if you look at the picture below, it looks like the second inversion goes right over what is currently Demons entrance so I imagine that might get reworked or moved. Either way, it’s clearly utilizing some space on the Demon side of the midway.
We will be one of only a few parks with 5 B&Ms now. Also, John’s comments about Dr D is interesting. Did he mean that the original plan was to clone Dr D or that maybe Dr D was originally planned for our park (and then they decided to wait and go bigger)
Either way, I’m glad it’s not a clone. I still don’t love the name but it makes sense.
In regard to Demon, it won’t be around forever. It’s great they can add stuff without removing much but eventually things have to get removed to add something new. There’s so many options for family coasters now, including B&M who just built two family coasters in 2024.
To think this was developed under Salim, who hates rides and built two worthless spaghetti coasters that don’t even work is crazy. (Dr D was originally developed under Spanos)

For the name part…. Say it with me…. Rakshasa. Rakshasa. Rakshasa. The more you say it the better it becomes.
From a GP standpoint I see that with the XF sign though.
I had to take a step back from this thread for a moment & just catch up to read every post. I do wish the ride was simply called Rakshasa, it just sounds better to me but at least it's not as long as a name as some coasters out there. Could have been Gotham City Gauntlet: Escape from Arkham Asylum lol
I was NOT expecting it to be blue. I understand why they didn't go with black supports with demon & XF right there but was totally expecting a darker color scheme. The lift hill is so wonky that it makes me kinda appreciate it more. I love the midway interaction & cannot believe how they're making use of the space. I've mentioned it a hundred times & this is proof once again, that space is there. It just takes creativity & even I would not have expected them to use that plot where the demon entrance is let alone use it for a massive dive loop. At all. There are so many positives about this coaster & for everyone who has nothing but negative things to comment, I'm sure we will still find you waiting in line come 2025.
The station area & ending is laughable though & is very RCT auto complete. But again, those wacky traits set it apart & make me appreciate it more. I'm soooo thankful they waited when it sounds like Dr. D was indeed planned for this space. I'm so happy B&M cares about the park & delivers us unique layouts. Superman is the odd man out here though & it makes me wonder what that could have been had they decided against a clone but I'm pleased this is yet another custom & unique coaster to the park.

I don’t think it’s all B&M. The park is probably the one that pushes back against clones. From John’s comments, sounded like a clone of Dr D was an option but they wanted something bigger and better.
It’s good to see the park dedicated to not just adding copy and paste coasters.
As for space yes. RMCs ability to build Goliath in a tiny space confirms they can build big stuff in small spaces. Also, Dive Coasters are notorious for being higher off the ground so it’s easier to go over midways and stuff. That’s what makes are park unique.
It’s unlikely Rakashasa will be cloned because it’s a unique layout that only works at our park!
This is sooo exciting. Likely the largest (coaster) investment in the parks history.
I also expected park of Demons entrance/front queue to be used. There’s been survey markers popping up everywhere there and they posted a mysterious sign.
Oh it's for sure a group effort, not just B&M but I know for a fact, they appreciate this park more than most. Or so they've said to my face. This was their birthplace & without argument, Batman launched them into the world way more than Iron Wolf or any of their stand up's did. They went on to give us three more coaster after that so the partnership is definitely a strong one. But yes any ride, small or big is a massive collaboration effort with many parties involved. Should have been a tiny bit more clear on that
I'm loving that they're working with designers for a story line & theming here. Cause honey, that station ain't it lol she needs help. I'm not expecting anything outlandish here but the simple fact that there's any discussion on that is making me happy. John brought up the temple, we could see some simple elements similar to what Rapterra will have. Also the audio on the drop? Love that.

I get what you meant and I know what you mean. John spoke very very highly of B&M. It’s evidence how much they are valued at our park.
The last 3 B&Ms installed a (legacy) Six Flags park: X Flight, Dr. D and now Rakashasa.
This was in development under Salim. With him out, this is why we might see a focus on theming again and why the station looks basic. Initial renderings are always not accurate (X Flight had a different station, a full hanger leading up the Immelman and pinwheels on the final turn) in its initial concept video.
This is just going to look so good. It’s unlike anything we have.
After catching up on 2 and a half pages of controversial conversation, I agree with everybody who thinks this is a great addition. As big of a fool as Mr. Bassoul is, he at least didn’t screw over his home park. I think that this is the best addition under his leadership that he entirely planned himself. Heck, this looks better than Valravn, the only dive I’ve ridden and that’s over 200 feet! From the layout, to the colors, to the marvelous marketing, the SF legacy corporation knocked everything out of the park. The lift hill is weird, yes, but at least we’ll get a great view of the park while being horizontal. I hope that there’s no grouper (I think that’s what they’re called) since I prefer to pick my row, but I wouldn’t mind if the grouper is there initially for a month or two after opening. I’ll admit. I also wanted the Sky Whirl to return, but after seeing this layout with a heart line roll-like element, I wouldn’t have wanted anything else. As somebody said, SFGAm needed something unique, and we got that.
As for Demon being removed, I would say that it will probably occur before the end of the decade. The park could easily fit a thrill and family coaster in that plot. All that’s for another day, though. We have a brand-new thrill coaster to focus on.
The only thing I’m concerned about is that I’ve heard no mention of a 50th Anniversary. Are they holding it in 2026 or did they just forget it completely?
Overall, I am over the moon with this coaster and look forward to what Zimmerman is cooking up next for the brightest star in the U.S. of A. Not bad, Bassoul. Not bad at all.
Did I ever mention how I wanted a commercial for the 50th with the old Marriott’s Great America song but updated like DC Universe replacing Yankee Harbor and “Marriott’s” being replaced with “SF”?

I imagine the 50th season announcement will come later. They want Rakashasa as the front and center news story. It’s possible they don’t know all the details of a 50th season celebration yet. Heck, we don’t even have FF details yet.
If they are waiting for the 50th anniversary, then Rakashasa would have been in 2026.
I'm definitely excited for our new mini B&M Dive coaster! Well, it is closer to a full size dive than a mini dive in my opinion. It is a good comfortable middle ground to be on.
I've already seen a lot of videos and images about our new coaster. The official trailer, Marcus Leshock's livestream, the two press conferences at 5am and 11am, and some others too. YouTube is starting to blow up with videos on our new high thrill coaster! Still waiting on a reaction video from Coaster Studios!
Anyway, I love that there is no mid-course brake run. It's going to be fast and aggressive. Five inversions back-to-back non-stop. I think it will be one very intense ride pulling upwards of 4 G's in some areas. I just hope for it being a new B&M that there isn't an uncomfortable rattle on it like some people have been reporting with Iron Menace at Dorney Park. I also hope the restraints on the three trains do not grip your shoulders to death like they do on X-Flight. Man, I haven't been on a B&M Dive Machine since I rode Valravn back in 2018!
I really can't wait to start seeing the first photos of track and supports on site and vertical construction - which I will follow through out the off-season. Now I have a reason to go back next year and get a season pass! Sky Striker is not a big enough reason for me to return this year.
One final thing, I heard that Marcus would ask the president about Roaring Rapids during one of his livestreams. Does anyone know if the park president said anything about Roaring Rapids? I would really like to ride it again.
The 50th could be small like the 40th, but i hope they announce something cool since ofc Rakashasa will be the coaster headliner for next year.
Again, easiest addition could be the Ameri-Go-Round in county fair as they still have it (from what i know) in storage, and the part where it used to be is open now. Really any cool addition regarding history is a win in my book.

Agreed 100% I would love to see Ameri-go-round return in 2026, along with more beautification of the park as well as a redo of both kids areas

Both Should be Looney Tunes themed, one Bugs Bunny, the other Foghorn Leghorn
or * it, remove the go karts, move Little Dipper, boom, Original area back
