Could the 7 s, 1 r, and 2a represent the seven across seating, a singular record broken, and possibly two areas the coaster would connect? I don’t know about that last one, but I’m pretty sure about the first two.
Knowing this, my bet for the 2025 addition is about the same as everybody else’s: a dive with seven-across seating and five inversions.

I am with the general consensus that this will be a dive coaster, which I would be pretty happy with! I think it will break some record... could be 5 inversions, or maybe they pull a shellraiser and break the steepness record with 95.5 degrees

She's old. 50 is a lot for a steel coaster. Many steel coasters have had half that life span & been removed. If they really wanted to keep it for a long time, they would have to replace track & redo certain things. Look into what BGW did with Lochness. It's incredible how much they love that coaster & from what I've heard, SFGAm staff love Demon a lot.
IF they were to announce its removal for its 50th, that would be a massive slap in the face. In my opinion. I know many of you could care less. I see both sides but I'd be pretty bummed.
Rode Demon today in the back row. The thing I think needs to be fixed the most is the turn into the first drop. Nearly lost my teeth. I also think that Demon needs lap bars. I got some insane airtime on the first drop but the OTSR don’t let you put your hands up if someone is next to you and the OTSR put a terrible stop to that good airtime.
I wouldn’t be opposed if they removed the loops, restored the airtime hills, painted the ride white, and called it Turn of the Century since I prefer airtime.
I know Demon is beloved by some, but it's loathed by many. It's just way passed it's prime. I can't even ride it anymore without having ibuprofen at the ready.

Most people who hate it are like people who aren't rich into the park's history. I really don't want it gone
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back
While I do deeply care for the Park History and regret not going earlier to experience some of the things I missed, history is only a small part of it's value.
You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd.
Arrow's way of design was outdated. It's why they're no longer around.
By the time they finally embraced computer heartline design, it was too late.

Outdated? Yeah. But that's kinda part of Demon's charm alongside it being a park original

I rode Demon 4x today in the back row. Butter smooth to me!
If we get a mini dive, I'll be quite disappointed. Don't even bother at that point. I'd rather have another Hyper to go along with Bull.
Also just because we can't find online a height variance paperwork , does that guarantee SF hasn't filed it? Maybe the ride is announced and then the paperwork is made public? (I don't know how the whole process works)

Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
^ From what I read in the town’s zoning ordinance pdf, in order to go over the 200 foot height limit the park has to submit a variance form to the council and then the city has to address it at the next zoning board meeting. The city has to give at least a 15 day notice ahead of the meeting to let people know that they will be discussing it.
I mean it’s possible that the park is confident that they will get a height variance approved but I don't know if a ride has ever been announced before the variance or any special permissions were approved.
I mean this was well over 10 years ago but I went to the press release announcement & groundbreaking for Goliath in 2013 & none of the banners said "Great America" cause they were still waiting for approval from Gurnee lol so it's happened.

I'm just a super fan lol I went to this with Yashu, our beloved former Déjà Vu ride op. Haha. I am pretty sure it was an open invite you just had to ask to attend.
What's wild is when we checked in, they handed us a print out of the layout & I yelled OMG WHAT cause I had not seen anything yet. It got leaked online & I knew I was going to the event that morning so I wanted to be surprised. I however was not expecting them to hand me that at check in before the formal announcement. But now that I'm thinking about it, I think it was posted that morning before the event. It was 11 years ago. Idk haha so I'm wondering if this will be the same.

I’m prepared with the chains and handcuffs if necessary….. it will be save the whizzer all over again….

They said save the Demon, and Buccaneer went leavin'

I’m okay if they want to take our Dark Knight LOL

I want a new Theater Royale in place of Dark Knight, that decision still baffles me because (outside of promotional purposes) it feels like it was only done to fill a coaster gap

I don’t really care if we get a refurbishment for Demon because it’s only the turn into the drop that gives me an issue. Besides that, I found no problems in the back row. If any coaster were to get refurbished, we need American Eagle. Call in Gravity Group and put some Pre-Cut Track on that.
