Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I have read many comment about Batmans paint job, Question is rust and dirt plus the smell better? From what I can see the park is doing a wonderful job bringing back the charm. A reminder Great America is for people of all ages not just teenagers. Viper shading a great idea, a long time coming. Look at how well the Revolution fits in. What I'm saying is stop complaining it will be different but it will be alright. To compete with other parks like Kings Island this is the correct direction to go. They had colors and now we do too. But, on our side we have more flat rides in The Southwest Territory then K.I. has throughout the whole park. As for kid type rides (if they even are) look at that kids section at K.I. ours is sad compared to theres. A cleaner friendlier park I,m all for that. I can't wait for Saturday.

Most likely.
I'll bet the only reason it's there is cause SF wants to put it in another park, if SFGAm had their ways it would probably be melted by now, lol.

I don't think ANY gm's have a reason to like Arrow mega loopers at a park like SFGAm ;).

You got me there, but if Winthrope was still in charge he would have that thing melted already; so you never know.

Jim has no say on what happens to Shockwave. Its SF corporate who makes those calls. Its not coming back to GAm.

^I think we closed that book a while ago^

in my opinion Shockwave would fit in great in a smaller parkthat doesn't have a real big steel coaster. Not everyone is as lucky as we are.

How many people in the Chicagoland/Gary/Milwakee area drive down to PKI for there "family day at an amusement park" instead of SFGAm? I know a lot of people around here have never heard of PKI (unless they've seen that Brady Bunch episode of course, but even then sometimes they have no idea).

I hope shockwave comes back just like most of you, but stop trying to tell yourselves that its coming back. If it was, they would have kept it and put superman in the parking lot. But theres always a chance.

Who said that we were complaining? I mean I love what SFGAm is doing and I'm not complaining one bit. Everyone else is just posting what they think. That doesn't mean that they are complaining.

I agree 100%. Everyone at the other park will LOVE Shockwave just like we did (in Shockwave's good way people will love Shockwave.)

If Shockwave ends up at another park and the coaster rides exactly the same, I don't think it will stay popular long.

The killer is the MCBR after the 3rd loop. If they modified that, the coaster would improve greatly to alot of people.

^^^ Unless Shockwave ends up at a park that is less fortunate than us.

Why would that matter?

If a coaster is causing people pain, they aren't going to ride it wherever it is.

They could take the first half of it (the "shock" part, if you will) and then redesign the second part of it (the "wave" part) to make it have a nice long course with a variety of loops instead of the quick stopping it has now.

While I found ShockWave to be quite fun and intense towards the back, and I believe it could make a decent new ride at some smaller park that may not be high enough of SF's list to get a jamor capital expenditure, though I feel I should point out that SF is missing an absolutely golden oppertunity right here with Scrap Metal(alloy steel) values approaching nearly $80 per ton, that's nearly double what they got for Sky Whirl.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder
Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping
