I'm getting more used to the name 'Maxx Force' too. I received the name survey and commented it sounded like an energy drink well before the coaster was officially announced. I like that MF will have it's own themed sub-section of the park, near the main entrance, as a signature attraction. And I like the idea of Maxx as a character, alluded to in the final teaser, the coaster/character in the clip as 'he'. Speaking of the teaser campaign, in hindsight it seems so obvious 'Road to Glory' -the name of the campaign- never could have been a water park expansion, it only make sense as a dry park addition, but it was fun guessing.

Remember the old coaster dude store? That had the roller coaster coming out of it? lol. That would be cool if the Carousel plaza gifts got a simmilar treatment! I remember they always used to play that song "The impression that I get" by the mighty mighty bosstones in that gift store back when Shockwave was still there!
^I know in the teaser campaign for Justice League back in 2015 they sent a bunch of local news reporters superhero capes, but I to my knowledge I don't think they've ever done anything this specific.

If this current build up continues... just imagine what it will look like in 2029?

But, I'm happy that the park isn't getting another carnival ride.
The biggest attraction of the ride is the launch, and that's what I'm going to think when I'm riding it. Just think about Top Thrill Dragster, the whole ride is themed to the launch of the ride, and Maxx Force will have a more forceful launch.
I'm grateful the park is getting a real coaster. As a bonus, it isn't a clone. Surprised that they aren't marketing that it will be the fastest coaster in the park. Thinking about the first element after the launch being 10 feet taller than Goliath puts the 175 feet into perspective for me. We all know that our park doesn't chase the tallest records anymore, but other than the V2 towers and Raging Bull this will be the next tallest coaster here. Ride over quickly? Yes, very. But that doesn't dampen how I feel about this addition. Can't wait to ride it.
I loved Dragster's launch and since this is even faster, I am sure I will love this just as much; if not better.
1.) Steel Vengeance 2.) Iron Gwazi 3.) The Voyage 4.) El Toro 5.) Velocicoaster Ragin Cajun and Iron Wolf went from Six Flags Great America to Six Flags America. I guess they weren't GREAT anymore.
Given the tight area that Maxx Force was wedged into, I think it will be a great ride and something the park really needed. Plus, we don't know how much open room will be left, seeing as that this thing mainly uses the trees by the Whizzer and not the full Pictorium plot.
Contrary to popular belief Great America is not landlocked. Six Flags own annual report states that there are 30 acres of potentially developable land at Great America, which is larger than Hurricane Harbor. I've personally plotted out a map, where 8 new roller coasters could fit.... A Raptor, A Sky Warp, A B&M Giga, A Sky Rocket 2, A small kids coaster, A large B&M floorless, A large Vekoma mega looper and a B&M Dive Machine.... WITHOUT removing any existing roller coaster, without removing the Picnic Grove and without removing the log flumes.
I can't wait to see how much (if any) open space is left in the Pictorium plot after Maxx Force is buil!
_FuryBull_330_ wrote:^Why do we need a Skyrocket II, Maxx Force is basically a Sky Rocket II but on steroids.
I plotted these locations out before Maxx Force was announced. Funny thing was, I didn't even consider using the Pictoruim plot, because I thought for sure they were eventually going to expand Hurricane Harbor into that area. I'm glad I was wrong, lol
But at the same time, look at what Busch Gardens Florida just did. They added Cheetah Hunt (Launched Intamin) a few years back and now they're getting Tigris (Sky Rocket 2) They don't really need Tigris.... but hey, it's another coaster!
