Hank Salemi will be among the first to ride the world’s largest roller coaster of its kind, the Mardi Gras Hangover, when it opens to the public, most likely on Memorial Day Weekend at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee.
“We’re anxious to get it up and running so we can test it,” said Salemi, president of Great America. “I love that one of the perks of my job is to be one of the first ones on new roller coasters.”
“I ride all of our coasters as much as I can,” said Salemi. He’s anxious to test out Mardi Gras Hangover, which is 100 feet tall and has 32 seats for patrons to experience multiple inversions and 360 degree revolutions.
“It could break the world’s record for most hang-time on a coaster,” Salemi said. “I think it will be one of the most exciting rides we’ve put up in a long time.
He means it could break the world's record for most hang-time on a super loop

The park map in the app still shows a picture of King Chaos and no Hangover. No mention of the ride in the descriptions either. I wonder when they will update this. My app has the most recent update too.

They usually update somewhere between opening day and an opening of a new ride so maybe it will update by then.
How come Lightning Rod is never open when I go.

I actually like that they made the new ride that big, and I will tell you the reason. Most people want to know where the new ride is. If you make the new ride quite big on the map, they will more easily find that new ride. So, if that is the reason, I think it's a great idea. They should do that every year - for whatever new ride they get.

Love how it's this big, it makes this a unique carnival ride . As for what kind of queue their doing they might be using the same queue as King Chaos but just expanding it a little. I still feel like it's going to be a bit small especially being a new ride, but hey there might not be many people going in that direction.

Since the novelty of Joker has worn off, maybe they can use the excess/overflow portion of Joker for the Hangover queue?!

Im assuming that the ramp is the exit, but it's right by the parade route track. Once the Mardi Gras parade starts will parade floats block the exit when it is occurring?
