Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Well, here is the story of this plot of land.
A surprise in all this is that SF sold the property because the proposal they had for a waterpark, convention center, and hotel which was originally approved in 1997 was reversed in 1999 by the residents in that area.
So basically, SF sold the property because they couldn't build what they wanted.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Yeah why not sell it, if they really needed the entertainment village they would have built it then.

No, Papas, they wouldn't of, the Idea was struck down by a referendum by the Village in 1999. So like Chitown said, they wern't allowed to build what they wanted there so the ended up selling it.

I believe what happened is the Public would only let them build the Water Park and Employee housing so they just scratched the plan all together.

Papas. I am willing to bet you didn't even read the article.
This is actually good news at least to me because now if they decide to construct a waterpark, it would most likely be built on their main property.

If anything Carlo, they probably would have only excepted the employee housing.
A waterpark would have generated a ton of traffic over their which the residents in that area would not take comfort in.
