Lines & Waiting

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby ShortChilli on April 9th, 2004, 7:51 pm
I was just wondering: what's the longest time you've stood in line for any ride at Six Flags Great America?

For me, it would be standing in line for Superman for like 2 hours!!

Superman for me too. The ride that had the longest wait ever was probably Batman when it first opened. The whole queue is huge.

I have a tie for the longest waits ever at SFGAm.

Last August 11th, My friends and I waited in a hot, sweaty, and slow moving line, for 1 1/2 hours to ride Batman. I should have known by the size of the line using all of the GCPW switchbacks by East River Crawler and then snaking it's way toward Orleans Place.

The other was 1 1/2 hours for Iron Wolf back in 2001. (July weekend)

I just wish I could have the 1 hour back that I spent waiting for Shockwave in 2001!!
Finally Coaster Season!!

For me it is probably the 2 hours or so I waited for Deja Vu, on the last day of the 2001 season. I was willing to wait as long as I needed to, to get a ride on it that year.

about 2 and a half hours for DV like a day or 2 after it opened, didnt seem so bad since I had just waited 3 hours for SFOG DV the week before :)

Besides that since I hadnt ridden it yet, if a line is more than 10-20 mins, I'll usually find something else with a shorter line, or I'll head out to Gurnee Mills, Jelly Bely Warehouse and try back later in the day, that is if I dont head home.

Just curious, did any one wait in line for RB during Fright Fest (when it went all the way to the shooting gallery) ? That line was crazy, it had to be at least 2 hours.

I went on a Friday night of Fright Fest and the line was very short. But yeah, I was there that weekend too when there must have been 30,000 people in the park and it was PACKED!!!!!

Over 3 hours for Deja Vu

It was Fright fest 2001 and Deja Vu just opened for the year, so I HAD to ride it no matter what. I couldn't wait another winter. So yeah the line was full and it stretched all the way back to the eagle. So with that and about 2 or 3 break downs, 3 hours later I rode it.

2 hours for S:UF. The line was short at the time so me and my friend are like what the heck, we got in and while in line the rode broke down twice. :(
Me and my friend were like WTF?!, but eventully we got on in the back and had a great time. :)
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

I was waiting in line for Giant Drop, and just as my luck has it, a bunch of "people" came up behind me and my friend. So these "people" (Oh by the way, this guy had a mullet!!) started to make out! Oh and HOORAY!! I had to stand in line before them for an hour! (And their kid kept touching my butt, I was mad!) It was like being with Peg and Al Bundy from Married... With Children! And it was all closed in, so I had to stand right by these people for an hour!

Wow that would be torture. I cant say I've ever waited over 2 hours for a ride. The longest wait would probably be waiting for S:UF for about 1 1/2-2 hours. I have yet to ride Deja Vu. The line is always way too long but this summer I plan on waiting it. 8)

About two hours and 45 minutes for the front row of S:UF on a warm july day. We figured everything had atleast an hour wait, so we might as well wait for something we've never done before.

Back in my youth when I had more patience, I waited almost 5 hours to get on Shockwave its opening day.

They only had one train operating and with everyone wanting to ride the tallest, fastest, and loopiest coaster in the world, it made for an extremely long wait.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
