Just a quick question. Does anyone know if those sounds when V2 starts are sound effects supposed to be sounding like screams or are they the propulsion magnets? I was there last season and it sounded like screams but it sounded really fake .
I wish I lived in Chicago so I could go to Six Flags more often!
Nope, thoes screams that you hear are indeed the LIMS in action. You hear it on the back spike too. On launch you can tell when you pass over the LIMS because you get the doppler effect (High pitch to low pitch) every time you pass over a LIM magnet further down the track. It acually sounds kinda cool. Also, you can hear eletrical interference with the PA system inside the station. Kinda a loud humming. That just goes to show you how much eletricity is being used on that ride.
I absolutely hate techno when in line for a coaster. Especially when its the same beat over and over and over again. While I was waiting for X they kept playing the same beat over and over again, and the line was barely moving, it was driving me insane! lol
As long as its not that same MIDI bluegrass they play that has no association with v2 at all. I don't see how it has a association with yankee harbor either.
When you hear the same music over and over again for 45 minutes to an hour, anything would be annoying, not just techno.
As far as the noises on V2 go though, I think that that god-awful noise that the train makes when it stalls on the back spike is the freakiest. The first time you hear it, you swear that something is messed up. It just sound's wrong. lol
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.
People in the station look at me funny when I stand in line with my friends and I'm next to go and on the launch, and when the train files by I don't have any reaction, I act like its not even there. They kinda've stare at me like, Uh you know thats right behind you?
And the exact cause of V²'s noise is the frequency of the electric flowing into the copper plates, this causes the plates to vibrate within the generated magnetic field, and its that vibration that causes that nice high pitch squeal. If they ever were to change the way it launched with more or less power, the frequency would change accordingly.
