Do you like the stuff that SFGAm is doing to the park?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Hi, it's my first topic so post a reply if u can help me write a better one.

Do you like the stuff that SFGAm is doing to the park? well, I'm all for Mardi Gras and the new support on V2 but I do not like a yellow Batman The Ride. Why the Hell are they painting it yellow :!: , Can't you just leave it alone? Or paint it something different Than V2? I know that Stargate Sg: 3K will be awesome and the shows will probably be good also. But, why is the Mardi Gras festival in May? The park is usually dead.

Anyway I hope the New rides and shows are great I'm really looking forward to them But what about you?

I think Great America is doing too much in one season.

Bye :D

I'm pretty happy about the new Mardi Gras section. All the new rides sound like tons of fun. :D I don't mind that they are adding supports to V2, or that they are repainting BTR. I preferred the original rusty black, but yellow should be awesome, too. I think this is a great move for SFGAm.

I dont have a major problem with the parks improvements this year. Quiet the contrary i am happy they are doing the right thing to improve their rides instead of just rollercoasters. The paints jobs are intended to make the park look nicer. Batman looks better yellow from 294 it stands out more.

I'm loving eveything that GAm is doing this year. yeah, the BTR colors do boggle the mind a bit, but I doubt it'll be anything really big. when you add in the fact that pretty much nobody expected us to get anything this year, the additions seem even better.

I think a lot of these changes were a long time coming and I'm glad they finally got done. I just hope that in the future, GAm keeps these types of improvements in mind and doesn't just focus on coasters (though I wouldn't want them to stop thinking about our 7 inversion floorless for one second ;) )

Everything is cool in my opinion, except for the removal of the theming in the main queue of B:TR queue line. I see it as pointless and takes away from what all of us know B:TR as, and it will seem dull and the queue won't be nearly as fun to walk through.

yep...it all seems awesome so far, I just wish they were gonna be finished w/ all the new rides by opening weekend...but I'll live.
I think the whole batman painting thing is really cool...as long as they put all the theming back in...

Are you Kidding? They're taking down the themeing fot B:TR? God I hope not. Mabye they're just storing it somewhere until that yellow paint dries?

Well, if they are taking it away I hope that B&M floorless w/ 7 inversions or whatever is great. IF WE EVEN GET IT!

Personally, i'd love a floorless
but I'd rather have a rocket coaster or a bobsled coaster.

Ok, I'm not trying to make anyone think I don't like this year's additions and other things so here are MY pros & cons

Pros
1. New rides in mardi Gras
2. Extra spike on V2 (I got REALLY scared because when I looked at it from the ground both towers wobble greatly)
3. Paint job on DEMON (last time I rode it the paint was all chipped & stuff)
4. That new vegas magic show
5. Seatbelts on EAGLE and VIPER.
6. Triple Play's gettin' new pain :D
Cons
1. Batman may lose its themeing
2. Batman will be repainted yellow!

I am thankfull that our new themed area is still sticking with the Great America theme. And that the Revolution will fit in nicely with the County Fair theme. :)

We could have gotten some Gotham City, or other repeated Six Flags theme, that would be extremely out of place in our park.

Now I just hope that the Demon is finished in time for May 1st! :?
Finally Coaster Season!!

Just a thought. What if we are getting the theming from the other Six Flags that lost their theming. And they get ours? Just for a change.
I wish I lived in Chicago so I could go to Six Flags more often!

I think I read somewhere that PTC issued a statement to all of the parks running PTC wooden coaster trains to add seatbelts on the cars.

I like all the new rides and season pass perks. The only things I don't like are seatbelts on AE and Viper, possibility of no BTR theming, and most importantly, the possibility of new park music.

-As far as seatbelts, most good woodies have them, no complaints here.
-I must admit, I was a little skeptical about B:TR being painted bright yellow, but now that ive seen it, it looks GREAT. Mike Ditka said it best, those who live in the past are cowards and losers.
-If you complain about V2's new supports you have some problems, also their real sleek looking.
-Mardi Gras looks like a fun time, also looks like it will be a big asset this season.
-Revy? Eh, I dont really care about it but it's nice that they put a ride there, I hear it looks real nice too.
-Triple Play needed the paint badly, I hear it looks good, cool.
-I dont know exactly what they've done to Eagle but its something, lol.
-The new uni's say "it's play time" on the shoulder instead of Six Flags, wahoo .
Great season.

Ok, sense the Mardi Gras section won't be open to the park, does that mean that we will have to walk all the way past AE and around the park just to get to V2or B:TR, then have to turn around? Or will there be a section of pathway that we can follow...
