The lack of teasers is not an indication that we're only getting something small. Obviously we're not getting a new major coaster, because no such permits have been filed with the village of Gurnee, but as someone else on this board mentioned, they've done elaborate teasers for very minor stuff, like Hometown Square and IgNight.
I wonder if maybe the new Six Flags CEO is against teasers or something. Like he thinks there's more impact if people don't have any idea what's coming (not that it worked and I don't agree, just a thought). And, yes, SFFT did post something, but I believe it was just a Facebook post on some park executives FB page, right? I can imagine a scenario where after he posted that there was some chain wide memo sent out telling the parks not to do any teasers to avoid taking the attention away from the chain wide announcement.
Again, absolutely no inside info, it just seems like a more logical thing than every park suddenly deciding to change past behavior and not give any teasers or Six Flags deciding nothing they were doing was worth a teaser.
- East River Crawler moved to Orbit Spot and renamed 'Harley Quinn's Spinsanity" - Larson Super Loop added to East River Crawler spot (Jokers Chaos Coaster?) - New Show in Grand Music Hall (Hoping for Lip Sync Battle) - Holiday In the Park 2017?

I would kind of hope that the ERC wouldn't get a Harley Quinn theme, mainly because it wouldn't fit that area of the park at all. Granted, they already moved a little bit in that direction with Strutters, (and I'm really not usually a person who cares about themes), but I don't think you'd see a Harley Quinn ride in a Hometown Square (and I don't think a moved flat ride is a big enough deal to mess up a whole themed area for)

My guess is that it will be 1 of 3 thing 1. The current name will remain the same 2. The lobster name will be given back to it 3. It will be renamed swamp thing

I just asked Marcus Leshock on Snapchat what he thinks is coming to Six Flags for 2017 (since he recently went). He said, "My guess is a free spin! But that's just a guess!!" So, since Six Flags likes him, maybe they told him what's coming. I'm not getting my hopes up though.

He said that on tv when he announced the Orbit leaving, too. I was torn between thinking that it must be right, because his park contacts would have told him not to do it if it wasn't, and thinking that it must be wrong, because the park must letting him go with false info to throw people off the real thing. So, really, I have no idea.
Do you all think it's possible that we'll get Holiday in the Park this year? If you read Six Flags earnings statements, you'll find that they're quite pleased with Holiday in the Park and want to keep expanding it to other parks. I could see them selling that all throughout fright fest as, "Buy your 2017 pass now, get free 2016 Holiday in the Park". Gurnee weather notwithstanding, I think we'll see this within the next year or two max. Corporate wants to wring more $$ out of the park, and one sure way to do that is to get people in the park in November / December. THoughts?
I would LOVE to have a Holiday in the Park but I don't think it's realistic in this climate. Not sure they could cover the cost of staffing, decor, etc. The weather is such a wild card....we could have a foot of snow in November!

Jim Reid Anderson was asked about this last year sometime for us and his response was basically we'll see what the options are in the furture for it. It won't happen this year because it would have been advertised with the season passes last year, but 2017 is a definite possibility I think. Especially with how well Great Adventure did with theirs this past winter.
Great Adventure got rave reviews. I think if we were to see Holiday in the park, it would be more like a "zoo lights" event with great decorations, not a full running theme park. I don't understand how SFGAdv had Nitro running, I can't imagine Raging Bull running in 35degree weather very well haha.

So our climate isn't as good as Great Escape in Lake George, New York?
