How about replace Pipe Scream with a Giant Discovery and Air Race with Flying Scooters?
I was at the park all day on 8/19 and asked 3 different Ops about the new ride for 2017. They all said it's going in RC's vacant spot! One went further and said that it has a Russian sounding name and that it will use ERC's spot also.
BTW, whoever suggested a "Magic Bridge between Batman and Hometown" , that's a great idea! I do love our loop layout for the most part. One thing that drove me crazy at SFOT was the dead ends'. Very inefficient layout.
Single Day Ride Count Record
50 rides 8/17/2018 (Without Flash Pass - Coasters After Dark)
I don't know if I should believe that or not. I mean I believe whatever it is it will use the spots left open by RC, ERC and Jeter's, but the Russian sounding name I just can't believe.
Honestly I wouldn't mind something like the Zamperla Volare. I'm assuming that's not a realistic option bc of capacity, but the smallish footprint is nice, and I feel like it's less of a gimmick than the 4D
Do not believe the Russian name rumor one bit. Next. ;D
Oh god no! Have you ever been on a Volare?! We already have superman which is far superior to those awful flying coasters. They are not only ugly, but highly uncomfortable. I felt like I was gonna fall out the back of my seat & yes, capacity sucks.
I was at the park today and if Orbit is really gone there is a ton of space to build something and in the adjacent Industrial Revolution, ropes course, smoking section lot. I asked a games employee about Orbit and she said in the park newsletter Orbit was just closed for the season.... We'll see.
What the park really needs is a super brand enhancing custom attraction, high capacity, that gets people excited with a great story line. I tried to talk to the greeter today at Demon "Hey I'm excited!" No info, no enthusiasm, no explanation there are two lines now for VR or no VR. No fun about the parks' new attraction. Wow. I am so glad this wasn't done to the Bull.

I am not quite sure why people still think that Orbit isn't going anywhere. People who went to the park on the last day of it being open as well as media outlets like Marcus LaShock at WGN have said that the ride has closed for good. Orbit is not coming back. It's done. The
Let's move on to something else...Gosh, September 1 can't come fast enough.
The park employees won't confirm anything until the park confirms/posts about it themselves. You can walk into guest services & say "is a coaster coming next season?" They will answer "exciting things are coming, watch our online event on Sept. 1st" or "is orbit closed for good" will be replied with "it is closed for the remainder of the season". They're not gonna tell you anything that will spread talk let alone leak any future plans. Most of them don't truly know anyway. For years they talked about a water coaster/Intamin aqua trax was coming to CP when I worked there. Oh it was coming cause park op & maintenance said it was. Wanna know what it was? Shoot the Rapids 2yrs later. Some will argue there was truth to all that talk butttt other than it being Intamin, no.
I'm seeing so much unhappiness over Orbit leaving. Over on Themepark Review they're talking about it lots as well..... Have you ever thought of this though? What if Orbit as we know it is gone but it will still be back next year. What if it's being relocated to the other side of the park and renamed something else and that's why they are saying Orbit is closed forever, because technically that would be somewhat correct.
Orbit will not return to Great America or any other park. This has been confirmed by SFGAm PR staff at an ACE event on August 14. Valleyfair and Kennywood are closing their Enterprises as well. Parts are simply too hard to find.

So based on that theory the only park that's getting anything is Fiesta Texas since they seem to be the only ones that teased anything.
