Not a chance, especially considering that it's posted on the main Six Flags page (not the Great America page).
I'll always remember the year when the e-mail newsletter before the announcement used the generic Six Flags language about an exciting Top Secret announcement, and there were people here all excited about that...and it was igNight. As a general rule I think it's safe to ignore anything that comes from corporate or through e-mail, any teasers they do are usually on social media or youtube.
Maybe the Pirate's Chest and Blue Batman means BB is being removed and a new coaster is going to be colored blue and will be placed in BB's spot which is kind of next to Batman.

Yeah. I think they'll do one video for each park. I wish they did what Cedar Fair does. Give each park their own day if it's a big addition and make it an in park event. Like King's Island did with Mystic Timbers
Sorry but, Mystic Timbers could have had the same reaction if it had been an online announcement. If the ride is "life changing" for the park, then I say you should def go with an in park event. Goliath, though was posted online at 4am, had a groundbreaking & announcement ceremony I'm sure many of you attended. I waited for the in park event to see what Goliath was at 9am that morning cause I knew if the park was making a big deal of it it would be big. I'm not getting that this year at least not yet. But who knows. Worlds largest 4D free spin? Lol
Well the only time Batman was blue is when Mr. Freeze was fighting him (at least in "the Batman") and he froze him and then he had a speically insulated suit. Maybe the parks first named Villain coaster as a free spin? Could be a bunch of things though they could be bringing Namtab back. And doing a variety of other things too. Hey wild thought: but depending on the length could they be removing ERC, Jesters, outfitters, and bucky battle would a coaster even fit that way or would that be too much space isn't bucky like right behind Batman?
I can't imagine that the capacity of a Free Spin is anything stellar to write home about (maybe 750 pph). Is this even going to be a worthwhile investment for a park like GAm (assuming that this is what is coming)???

Well, Great Adventure got one, and I have to assume they're as crowded as us (if not more so). I don't especially feel like doing the research, but is it working out there?

It says nothing next to Orbit. https://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/attractions/ride-list I wonder if the train is closed so the Pictorium can be demolished while they have a crew doing other demolition work in the park. Great Adventure demolished the Chiller station last year while they already had a crew working in the park. Here is an image showing Jester's Wild Ride in the Sky Trail location and East River Crawler replacing Orbit. IMAGE REMOVED IN QUOTE
It's not pictorium. All the Survey markers are in Picnic Grove, and some of them are very close to the railroad tracks. There's your reasoning.

Where in Picnic Grove? Are they everywhere or limited to a specific area? I ask because if they're doing work other than general construction, that means that they could be considering running a coaster through the grove!!!!!
I highly doubt we'll get a coaster next year. Teasers for "thrill" attractions usually start in the first week of August(Goliath), so I think they would've started teasing by now.
I think some of us are getting are hopes up. We just got Justice League which cost a lot. I'm not seeing much this year except for some flats. Unless Great America got a lot of business from Justice League, they can build something big. Sorry if I'm not making sense.
There we go. With ERC, Jesters, & the new kids rides in that area, all they would need is to remove BBs overflow que & add a small kiddie coaster. Then we would have another great family section.

Don't really think you can base anything on one example. I recall getting a lot of teasers for igNight and Hometown Park, so I'm not sure there's much connection between size of ride and size of teaser.
I was going to go back to past years and find the first teasers, but that quickly got very annoying. I can tell you though that the first teaser for igNight was posted to Twitter and Facebook on August 1st, with the first video on YouTube on August 8th. First Teaser video for Golitah was posted on August 1st. First video for Hometown Park was August 11th. And first video for Justice League was August 14th. So if there's any pattern at all, I think it's that they've been starting later the the last few years.

Well at this point I think it going to be either a S&S 4D Free Spin or flat ride package. But which ever one we don't receive in 2017 were get in 2018.

Justice League cost $8 million. In 2015, we saw an attendance increase on an offseason. Corporate rewards increases in attendance (especially in offseasons!), so it wouldn't surprise me if we received another $5-8 million investment in 2017.

And, coincidentally, a S&S Free Spin apparently costs around $7 million...
Great America is clearing a lot of room (Jesters, ERC, etc), which makes sense that they would add a coaster. Jester's spot is small, nothing much bigger than that itself would be able to fit there.
We've been in a pattern of a coaster every other year right now so it does make sense. Typically, we only see a small investment once every 4 years. The train is likely closed due to the possible construction anyways. The train is always in the way of things.
Either way, at least we know the area of the park in which the ride will be. Every time we've said "it won't be a coaster, we end up getting a coaster."
I like how the Free Spin rumor started 2-3 days ago and even though there is no proof or clues at all, 50% of the people in this topic think we're getting one. I could say that we're getting Batman from Astroworld and my statement would have the same amount of credability as the Free Spin rumor. Here's a few reasons as to why this isn't happening: 1. Goliath - Some Six Flags park haven't received coasters in years (SFOT, SFOG, La Ronde, etc.) and we just got an expensive RMC 2 years ago (Will by 3) which opened as the tallest, fastest, and steepest wooden coaster in the world. SFGADV went 5 years without a coaster, and their park is considered more popular, bigger, and had more local competition. 2. We all ready have 14 coasters. Does SFGAm really need more coasters right now? Not necessarily, some coasters could use a slight rehab (Demon) but we need other things right now (Flats for example) 3. Don't you think that if SFGAm was adding a coaster, they'd have started some campaign by now? Like I said, they're not going to keep something like this is a secret, they want people to know about it.
