I am getting worried...

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

And what are you Great America 2003....our mother??

If people want to worry then let them. Then they will get a big surprise on opening day. There is no need to tell them what to do.

And at the same time, why would anyone on these boards worry whether a park has their attractions open on time or not?

Unless financial details are at stake for you, who really cares? When I go on May 1st , I really won't care that a new attraction is operating. I will just be glad to experience the park for the 2004 season.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I think we're all forgetting that the park opens in less than one month! I don't think you should worry too much, just let it be a suprise for the rest of the month. I'm not telling you what to do, but I don't really think it matters too much. You'll find out soon enough.

I remember all thinking they were behind last year too. I'm sure everything will be fine.

I always thought Shat was a guy named Ernest Miller.

I can remember thinking that GAm was behind every year since I've been interested in coasters/parks and every year they've managed to pull through (with the occasional exception of two coasters in one year). they've had a plan all this time and I'm sure the deadline to get all projects done and open is May 1.

personally, I would like to see the management take the installation of all new additions seriously, meaning that construction starts the day after the park closes. that way there isn't this last minute rushing around stuff and minor details can be better taken care of with the extra time.

well if construction started right in the off season they would be paying construction workers every day till the season. They wouldnt need to do that much. Six Flags Great America usually pulls through. Hopefully this year the construction wont be sloppy.

why would they pay construction crews if the crews aren't working? the time to construct whatever is being constructed is the same whether it starts in November or March.

Okay, I have to say this. Who cares if other people are excited about opening day?! Personally, I don't care for pictures of a field of dirt, but i'm grateful for the update. So shut up; all those people who don't care about constuction. And even though I wouldn't be very excited for a mound of dirt, I wouldn't scold the people for liking the park. And if you're (not anyone personally, the general populus) on these boards, I'd assume that you love the park. So I don't understand why you would waste web space scolding people for being excited.

That's all I want to say.

Hey Binks Drake have you ever considered politics? I'd say the writers of Bush's speeches would envy those choice of words right there.

The reason why i think they start late is because they don't want to give the construction workers more time to do the job when they can do it in a shorter amout of time. If they have more time they will sit around more and milk the money. If they have a shorter deadline they will work and not slack off. Think of it as saving money for future investments.

And if they start in the fall after the park closes, they'd have to winterize all the projects they're working on. It seems best to just start in the spring.

Did you guys every think that may not be working on install new rides because the rides have not yet arrived from the Factory. 4 out of 5 new rides have custom painting and theme. I do not know when they made the decided to get these new rides but it seemed like it was a last minute thing. So, it may take 3 to 5 months to get a ride from the time they order it.

Thats where your wrong.

I challenge you to find a construction crew that is going to start working on a project, take 3 months off, and come back in march not expecting some kind of compensation for three months of unemployment
