Ok then if they are getting them for free I can see why Coke is plastered everywhere on them, but the lines for drinks and snacks are still just as long nothing really changed they are just selling a litle more out of one location which theoretically lengthens lines because of 1 people not knowing what they want, 2 people working not having enough of any one particular snack/beverage item and having to send people elsewhere. They need to concentrate their food services staff and lift the dining pass hour restrictions and everything will be running smoothly again with little to no wait. And lets face it some prepwork can be done the night before or overnight.

Coke is significantly subsidizing the coke stands. Their upper management come into the park every year and do an inspection of the stands to see if they are being cared for. Every year they have been pleased and we are guaranteed another coke stand in return.

I'm guessing the coke stands are to create guest satisfaction, offering a variety of choices at one location for families wanting to purchase food. They are also meant to be a faster alternative to waiting in large buildings, such as a pizza joint or funnel cake location. They call it a "walkup" where it's ideally meant to be about 1-2 minutes per guests, but realistically that's not possible.

Lifting the dining pass restriction will only encourage guests to get all their meals at once. Or they will get all their meals in the beginning of the day, and they will leave earlier than usual, hurting park attendance.

You are naive to believe that prepwork doesn't occur every night. It is unrealistic to expect a few culinary services employees to stay any longer than possible. Most already go home 3-4 hours after park close. Most locations don't close until park sweep, and they are almost always discouraged from cleaning/throwing away food before they are closed (due to the waste of food that could be sold). Given that park sweep takes a good hour, and it takes another hour or two to clean after a busy day, and then another hour of prep, makes it difficult since many employees are teenagers who have school and their parents want them home before midnight.

But yeah, lets add more stress to the lives of overworked 16 year old's who barely make $9 an hour.

Back at No Coaster Con in January, Hank promised more self-serve Coke refill stations. I forget if they were Freestyle or the traditional kind. Anyone know if this will come to fruition? That would really help with lines.

If he's hinting at free soda, I ain't complaining. I'd assume both, really. Freestyles are good for places like Mooseburger or other sitdown places, and standard ones for Coke/snack stands(what the "Refill Station" on the side of the new Coke stand indicates).

I think they've been moving towards free soda for a few years now, although that would obviously be a corporate decision. I have the blue bottle with the gold dining pass but I usually just get water. I think I saw a water bottle refill station by Claim Jumper. either way it would help with the lines.

I think it's odd that they have several self-service Slurpee refill stations when Slurpees aren't free refills (except the boot day of purchase).

There is approximately 0.0000001% chance of Six Flags moving to complimentary soft drinks. They make too much money off of drinks.

^We use the term 'Free Drinks' lightly. What it actually means is, "We'll give complimentary drinks, but we'll also jack up other prices(mainly entrance)."

It's never 100% free, but it might APPEAR free.

^ I could see that if Six Flags had a different pricing structure. With the pricing and emphasis on season passes in the chain, their clear goal is to get as many bodies through the gates and nickel and dime them once they are in the park.

For us it really would be free though with the frequency of visits and the fact that we all have memberships/passes.

Something like Holiday World would work well, as long as people with the sports bottle only use them. I'm all for refill stations.

Eagle is no longer capable of running three trains regardless so that makes no sense. How many cars did you see? Each train has five.

I think it was 5, but don't count on me. The trains were in the brake run, the transfer, and the space before the transfer.

I don't see a reason for SFGAm to remove an unfinished train from the maintenance area to the ride. Eagle has six trains total which are cycled out each year. The third from each side gets rehab over the course of the year. I want a picture.

Southwest sign by Demon is now gone (not sure if that was mentioned before).
Also the large TV screen by Pictorium/Train bridge is gone (supports still there so maybe just a rehab or upgrade screen coming?

Yep, I can confirm.

The test seat for RB is gone, if that is any news.

Triple Play is almost done with reconstruction, Fling is the same as is KC.

Also, I was wrong with the 3 red Eagle trains. It's just two, brake run and transfer. Also, one of the red trains has some of that Haribo branding on it.

Good, those things are starting to look ratchet. Batman's looks awful and needs to be removed or repainted ASAP.
