Did anyone catch what the special announcement was? Was it just announcing the double rides or was it something new? Also, will anyone be posting a photo or video trip report at all? If so, I would like to know where I could find it...
I didn't experience double rides on any of the original flat rides. Goliath was running two trains. Food service was absolutely horrible, we waited around 45 minutes to 1 hour for mooseburger.

Any pictures? I suppose this could be just stuff for NEXT Fright Fest, since they're replacing Necropolis, right? I have to assume that's the most likely explanation, although I don't know why they'd have it out there already. It makes even less sense that they'd have stuff for a new ride or whatever, unless they're trying to tease something...
^ They had some of that webbing covering where the ragin cajun sign was, there were skeletons up there too. Not the main one but they one that said something like enter here. They had some gravestones in the ground as well. They had a few larger Halloween things as well. Part of me feels like they were just lazy putting things away from fright fest, but who knows. Most of the Halloween themed stuff looked familiar, but they just moved it in front of ragin cajun for some reason.
i even tweeted six flags about the horrible wait times at food and what not. My nephew is exactly 48 inches so went to the new place to get him measured for a wrist band. it had 1 working doing that and handing out handicap exit line forms to anyone and everyone that asked (without any proof anyone in group was disabled in any way) this line was 58 minutes long. waited later 35 minutes to get warm soda refill and find out they were out of ice and had no pretzels, popcorn, or nacho's left at the booth by x-flight. took 20 minutes to get slice of pizza at Angelo's early on. later for dinner went to JB's waited in line for 25 minutes then after i ordered waited another 35 minutes for nacho's that order was wrong. when it came back 5 minutes later the way i ordered it (cheese and ground beef only) the "ground beef" looked like they had used a fork to break up a hamburger to put on top of the nacho's they obviously ran out of ground beef. they also were giving people their burgers they ordered about 30 minutes after paid for and without tomato, onion, or lettuce as they said they were out of all them if you bothered to complain. I saw one lady wait at least 45 minutes for a pulled pork she ordered. I was disgusted by my nacho's and tossed them out and left before she got her order so not sure how much longer she waited. Waited 90 minutes mid day for Eagle which was only running 2 trains on red side. Blue trains were totally MIA 45 minute wait for little dipper, 60 minutes for demon. between all the waiting for food/drinks, wristbands, the 2 times i had to go to the pass processing center first cause my pass wasn't showing my dining then cause it wasn't showing the upgrade to get the snack either even after i was told it was fixed the first time. long story well long. was there open til just before close and barely got on anything due to all the excessive lines where there really shouldn't be. crews on rides were understaffed and SLOW... Food was just simply overwhelmed in everyway possible everywhere you looked. I also noted the halloween deco still up at ragin cajun former location. bathrooms near batman were not cleaned very well and out of paper tolls when we went by. first ride of day 10 minutes after opening was Rue Le Dodge and I pointed out how filthy the TV screen in the line was and how bad it looked in there dirt wise. also could tell the fright fest deco was ripped out lazily as you can see several threads and pieces of black cloth still hanging in spots. then when we sat at a booth in JB's the light fixture was covered in caked on what looked like last years bbq sauce still. was disgusting. all the tables were also dirty as no one was even attempting to clean them as people left. 1 guy was sorta going around and picking up plates left on tables but that was it. ZERO cleaning supplies. Better hope the Gurnee health inspector is blind and out of town for a while.... Also there were people cutting lines a more than a few occasions since there seemed to be no security presence at all. even saw someone while in line for Eagle jump down from the line's bridge over the rail way pick up something that was dropped and them climb back up the walkway to get back in line. Their whole group later cut many people right before the red/blue split and dared people to complain. (thugs that belong in baltimore or pitching for the KC royals) saw 1 guy walking around mardi gras area smoking a cigar for over a half hour before he left the area still smoking it. saw people in line for Demon smoking cigs too. Overheard on a few occasions people say if they hadn't bought the pass already for this season they wouldn't come back and unless things get better those people probably won't come back next year.
As for double rides on Eagle and the original flats i thought i remember it doesn't start til may 29. god help them they don't have eagle blue running both trains by then.
At this point I am hoping to get a trip survey....
Almost every place we stopped off at to redeem our Green Bottle vouchers had NO IDEA how to redeem them. None. Zero, zilch. Finally a manger, just took the voucher, and rung it up as a sale, and kept the reciepts with each voucher and gave us our bottles.
After we got our dining passes redeemed, we started off at Superman, and they re-routed the line in front, and a bunch of thugs jumped in front of a bunch of us. (They should have just grabbed a few people at a time and directed them to move the line over. It would have only taken five minutes. Either way we got on in decent time. IT was my first time on Superman, and it scared the be-jesus out of me! We got on the Raging Bull next, another ride I never been on. We got the back row. That has to be the most intense ride I ever had.
I got to experience the Demon again, and still love that coaster. I followed it up with The Xflight, which was another first for me, that ride was smoother than I thought it would be. We finished with American Eagle, and I can pretty much attest to what people said about it. It's in rough shape, and it beat me up pretty good. It needs a lot of work.
I have to say I agree with what a lot of people said about the waits, but I had to remind myself that it was opening day and to be patient. I'm going back many times this year and going back for a five day vacation on May 14th, so hopefully some improvements will be happening soon.
Its opening weekend guys. That means new employees and a huge crowd with the deal they do. If u were displeased with your experience please return throughout may is much more pleasant also weekdays when they start are better.

Anyone going to Opening Day when tickets are $19.76 shouldn't have the expectation of fast lines. No one seems to learn that Opening Day will always be like this and some rides will run at reduced capacity. As for foods, yes lines were long...I waited a half hour for a funnel cake sundae. I'm sure foods was overwhelmed from the crowds but to add on top of that, Six Flags marketed the crap out of the new dining passes.
To shorten my point, I think you guys need to calm down and go to SFGAm again on a day where there isn't over 40,000 people in the park at once. You know the park is insanely crowded when you see supervisors running rides in double-op. (Triple play, Crawler, etc.)

All in all, I had a good time! It was a little hickup for my day, but I'm going back for a few days as of the 14th, and going back many more times, even memorial day weekend. So I know what to expect, and I'll just roll with the flow!
